Important company update:

Following our recent email, we would like to inform you that Metro Imaging is becoming a part of Genesis Imaging (@genesis_imaging).

Until Friday 12th December 2025, a skeleton team will be at 32 Great Sutton Street to help with collections and booking in new jobs.

From Monday 15th December 2025, 32 Great Sutton St will be closed, and all uncollected work will be transferred to Genesis Imaging at 1 Hurlingham Business Park, Sulivan Rd, SW6 3DU, where the team will continue to look after your projects with the same care, craft and technical excellence you know from Metro.

During the transition period, while we move equipment from Metro’s Great Sutton Street premises to Genesis Imaging in Fulham, Black and White Fibre-Based and Resin-Coated Printing services will be temporarily paused from 6th December 2025. We would like to thank you for bearing with us during this service disruption, which we will, of course, do all we can to minimise. We will update you in due course upon the resumption of this service.

We are confident that combining with Genesis will ensure the best possible quality services for you, our valued customers, for many years into the future.

What a treat to have attended this year’s @britishartfair at @saatchi_gallery!

“A hug for the soul”

Guilherme Mariano, the Brazilian exhibition designer, reflects on how Joe Honda’s sensitive lens captured not only the intensity of the Formula 1 races, but also the quiet, intimate moments surrounding Ayrton Senna.

Through Joe’s eye, these photographs of Ayrton become more than documentation - they hold memory, emotion and atmosphere that still resonate today.

We are thrilled to share that this year’s recipients of the Genesis Imaging x Nottingham Tent Photography BA Bursary are Caleb Norris and Carrie Savill.

As part of the bursary, Caleb and Carrie will each receive £500 worth of credit towards printing and framing for their end-of-year show. A huge congratulations to you both!

16 years ago, I wrote an exhibition proposal to celebrate Ayrton Senna’s enduring legacy through my father, Joe Honda’s lens. The project stalled for many years, but the idea never really left me, and last year I returned to it.

Sharing these photographs in Sao Paolo Brazil, on May 1, - for the first time outside of Japan - and hearing how much Ayrton meant and continues to mean here today feels deeply meaningful.

These images come from my late father’s archive, built over decades — a body of over 300,000 images that I’ve been working to preserve over the past decade — with many more images and stories still waiting to be rediscovered.

Grateful to the @mis_sp for their vision in bringing this exhibition to life, to @sennabrasil for their guidance and support, and to the many friends and collaborators who were so generous with their time and knowledge along the way.

And last but not least to Shashin Kosha, Genesis and Metro Imaging for their meticulous work in bringing these images into the present.

Há 16 anos, escrevi uma proposta de exposição para celebrar o legado duradouro de Ayrton Senna através do olhar do meu pai, Joe Honda. O projeto ficou em suspenso - mas a ideia nunca realmente me deixou - e no ano passado, ela finalmente encontrou o seu caminho.

Compartilhar estas fotografias em São Paulo, Brasil, no dia 1º de maio 2026 - pela primeira vez fora do Japão - e ouvir o quanto Ayrton significou e continua significando aqui hoje tem um significado profundo.

Essas imagens vêm do arquivo do meu saudoso pai, construído ao longo de décadas — um acervo com mais de 300.000 imagens que venho trabalhando para preservar na última década — com muitas outras imagens e histórias ainda esperando para serem redescobertas.

Sou grata ao Museu da Imagem e do Som pela visão de tornar esta exposição realidade, à @senna.global pela orientação e apoio, e aos muitos amigos e colaboradores que foram tão generosos com seu tempo e conhecimento ao longo do caminho.
