Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧Celebrating with our second annual Dumpling Week @nytcooking and so excited for @ericjoonho king dumplings, @thisiskaychun cabbage, cheese and potato dumplings with dill, @hettymckinnon mushroom manti and @heysueli pork and garlic-chive dumplings. (Oh, and I made Thai basil chicken dumplings with rice paper wrappers.)

It’s so fun making @goldendinerny pancakes at home 🥞 thanks to chef Sam Yoo for sharing his recipe and story! (Free recipe in bio^) These are just some clips from figuring out how to adapt the restaurant’s recipe for a home kitchen. (Yes, the batter works in a waffle iron but is definitely better as pancakes.) The easiest way to make a layered carrot cake was inspired by baking first birthday cakes for my babies. Story and recipe at gift links in bio!

Malva pudding is now one of my favorite desserts, thanks to the recipe in the great cookbook from @chefericadjepong and @korshawilson Custard soaks into a fluffy sponge cake and it’s so easy and fast and it all tastes good warm. Free access to the story and recipe at the links in bio!

Orange rolls! They're like cinnamon rolls but with lots of fresh 🍊 (video link in bio). I can't wake up early enough to wait for dough to rise, so my recipe's a fast no-yeast version with cream cheese icing. Happy baking!

Monterey Park is my home, where I was born and spent my first 17 Chinese New Years then many more. My heart is with my home and everyone there.
Wonton soup was our family’s comfort meal at the long gone Sam Woo and also at Sunday Cafe and maybe just what we need tonight to welcome the year of the rabbit. 新年快乐
