Dear Canada, (landlocked life)

I wish you’d shrink my arms
as much as you fade my tan

I spend quite some time
going down memory lane
but most of the time
driving the 20 E & W
counting orange cones
only wanting to go home

You feel warm & familiar
although I feel cold and extraterrestrial
I had no clue who that guy my mom was talking about was
oh wait, that’s the new prime minister?

Nothing feels more satisfying than saying
"décalisse"
although every time I speak
my tongue splits in three

Sweet as maple
sour as strawberries
annoying like the corn stuck in my teeth

I can see so far looking at the horizon
yet I have nowhere to go.
