POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thought I’d just post this to my page for now as I’ve mainly just been sharing stories recently. I had fun painting this reaper mural at @levelstattoostudio (coming soon, watch this space as they say) for me old mucker @mrbaldaro and the fastest tattooer in the west mids @ozkotattooart . It was great to just take my time on this one, and to be painting it for people who just wanted it to be as good as possible, the concept was that the grim reaper has taken his skull off so he can tattoo a Lilly onto it (New year New me) the eyeballs are floating around watching him and one of them has floated into his hood, possibly it’s also instructing him on how the tattoo is going too (left a bit right a bit) It was good to bring a bit of narrative into the piece and to also use a slightly different colour scheme (No Pink) hopefully it’s come together successfully. I’ll post again once there’s more stuff in the studio to give an idea of scale as you can’t really tell from the photos. Cheers #birmingham #tattoo #grimreapertattoo #mural #gent48 #loopcolors #loopcoloursuk A mural painted in Birmingham U.K. for new tattoo and art gallery Levels tattoo studio. The mural depicts the grim reaper clad in a blue cloak tattooing his own skull. 💀 by @gent48

I keep adding to these zines, I get carried away.
I was going to buy envelopes but then thought using old loop boxes might work.
I’ve made individual Perspex windows for each box, and every zine has a different hand drawn cover and hand embellishment throughout and folds out into a poster. They also come with stickers and each box is numbered 1 to 20✌️ by @gent48

I’m making a mini zine that folds out into a poster. Thought I should have some sort of zine as it’s a zine fair. Each one will have a different hand drawn cover and hand embellishment throughout, I’ll Chuck some stickers in too. by @gent48

Work in progress. No plan, no idea. Just a Freestyle.
Freehand transparent spray paint with loop stock cap and mixed media on found surface.
Added a rib cage 🩻 on the left in acrylic over the top of some Fluorescent pink liquid acrylic scribbles I regretted doing. Enjoying the process. Think I’ll put something in the green rectangle at the top next. by @gent48

Work is in progress…

To celebrate #BookshopDay on Saturday 10 October, we're putting a spotlight on Birmingham and its wonderful bookshops!

Local artists @uuendylau and @gent48 are creating murals on Livery Street (a short walk from @waterstonesbirmingham and foyles.birmingham) and another on York Road (just around the corner from @theheathbookshop @how_brave_is_the_wren )📚

Here's an exclusive first look at the two sites!🧡

Forced myself to try and use a brush, feels very unnatural. I wasn’t very brave, I’m only sketching up in really watered down acrylic.
I thought this would show the scale of some of the pieces I’m making, well trying to make. This one’s also on some hoarding I pinched / acquired from over the road from my studio, it’s pretty bashed and made out of some sort of plastic and what looks like aluminium but I like the texture and it’s fairly lightweight. No idea why my arm always ends up behind my back, I think it’s just to get it out of the way. by @gent48

Some more works in progress… some spray paint some mixed media. Non finished.
I’m going to get rid of the little bloke on the last one and the skull in the speech bubble and the blue and white things, I found the wood and it already had 3 holes in it, the eyes and mouth are painted on bits of wood I glued to the back. Maybe I’ll completely change it but keep the eyes and mouth. by @gent48

Playing with some straw caps, the plan was to put some transparent paint over the top again to define it. I’ll probably do one and leave it like this.
It’s just been enjoyable to just create for the sake of it and not over think it.

Did a quick painting experiment, spray paint on canvas. I painted it in grey first and then used transparent paint over the top. I don’t normally use transparent paint in my work but I’ve been wondering if I could use it for canvases. I think I enjoyed the process I just don’t like the painting, seems a bit normal, I might make him a vampire 🧛 or a devil 😈 or scribble heroin poppies in white oil stick over the top. by @gent48

WIP
Mixed Media On Canvas.
Hit a wall with this one again. It’s been floating around for ages and I keep adding to it.
I might add some text or another small character over the top 🤷‍♂️🪰💀 by @gent48
