10 years since the San Francisco Chronicle followed me on a job and interviewed me about gilding. There are a few quotes from the article and misquotes, but I remember eating one of the best meals of my life after finishing work with Paolo Luchesi from the Chronicle. It was the cherry on top of a long day gilding 2 signs, hunched over in a window.

The Progress. 23 karat gold leaf on reverse fluted glass. @theprogress_sf
Design by @r_a_y_studio

Big congrats to the restaurant for recent accolades including SF Chronicle top 100 and a James Beard nods.

This obscured glass was a trip to work on for a day. Fluted or reeded on the reverse side

Annual Holiday windows at The Page. A favorite tradition that signals the end of the year and a transition towards the next. A crisp 65° California day and a pint waiting for me at the end of it. Cheers @thepagebar_sf

Re-creating a gold leaf transom address. This gilded number could very well be over 100 years old. The Italianate Victorian manse was built in 1886. Traditional address numbers are made on site out of gold leaf and never a sticker. Keeping the craft alive in San Francisco.

Re-painting the iconic Castro Theatre sign. Huge thanks to Jim Rizzo at Neon Works for hiring us. @neonwks

Was blessed to work with some talented painters on this project. Our Paint crew included dynamic duo @allthingsmeng & @okayjeffrey as well as @jeffreysincich and @josephrivas1r . Coming together to paint with such talented friends is always a gift. Painting this sign for the Castro community was truly an honor. Thanks for having us.
