Polaroids from recent travels. Quick 3000 mile trip. Saw old friends and made some new ones. Painted and gilded lots of stuff at BBCRC. Thanks to Bruce and Rusty for the hospitality. Caught some old marks too🌴. I am back in Colorado ready to continue painting signs for your every need 🚂 🎨

Had the absolute best time @southpaw_signs first @california_conclave . I didn’t get as many photos as I should have but I spent a lot of time working, learning and enjoying the company of my friends and colleagues in the industry of sign painters and guilders. It’s amazing having this event close to home now and watching my mentors handling it like the pros they are is always another inspirational experience that I treasure and will draw from creatively!

the trail, the myth, the boot grabber. Bootjack sign is here! Hand painted by Andrew Lawrence @gentlemanscholr and original artwork / font by James Van Kriedt @outerlands.studio Considering the pace of bureaucracy looks like an early spring opening. 🌱

5️⃣ years of small fishies, wine, and all things delicious 🎉🐟🍷🍾🎉 We built @theanchovybar at the height of the pandemic, and it’s been incredible to watch this space (and the parklet!) evolve into a true city favorite.

Whether you’re cozying up indoors or dining al fresco under the game-changing heaters🔥from our friends at @focal_heat , @theanchovybar is proof that great design, great food and great hospitality can weather the storms and seasons. Cheers to many more years! 🙌🙌🙌

Thanks to Ross @surehandsigns for hosting Virginia Conclave and inviting all of us together every year to learn and hone our craft! The Gold Workers Union ranks are stacked with some serious talent! I always come away from this event with new skills and inspiration. I played with an antique mica powder blend, some paint gradients, triple gold karat tear blends, and a baby pillow gild burnish. 💖
After each day spent decorating our panels, we hit the town and have a little too much fun. It’s basically sign painter Rumspringa. Having a community like this is truly special, you could compare it to a guild or a union or a club…but we really are a family.
I miss ‘em already! 🥹

My beloved friend Hilary just finished building a house in the Bay Area. A heroic task in and of itself, but it was also the final project on the drawing board of her late father – noted San Francisco architect Sidney Hoover. I wanted to paint Hilary’s house numbers with tender lettering that carried the spirit of the Mission-inspired architecture, but also marry it with a hand-made gesture.

The implementation offered some hiccups (I leaned on my friend @metalteepee but I still didn’t feel like I could do the project justice. Hilary found maestro Andrew @gentlemanscholr – a sign painter to render my lettering by hand. Brilliant job, Andrew!

A collaborative effort. I am so pleased with how it came out. (I think your dad would be pleased, Hilary.)

Huge thank you to the brilliant @0liviaonline who continues to impress me with her filmic mind and presentation.
