Two groups of Georgetown sailors had standout performances this weekend. 5 Hoyas won the MAISA Match Race on Monday, securing the auto-berth with 2 wins in the finals, those 5 were Peter Herlihy ‘29, Peter Barnard ‘27, Jack Duffy ‘27, Maddie Rode ‘30, and Owen Kohut ‘29. On the women’s circuit, Fordham’s Aiala Angueira Salbidegoitia ‘30 and Olivia Creasy ‘30 had a very strong performance down at Oyster Bowl Women’s on the Potomac. WEEK 3!

Down at the St. Mary’s Open, Owen Kohut ‘29 and Sophia Skrivanich ‘30 sailed a great event in a puffy 5-15kts. With only 3 races outside the top 5, Owen and Sophia were able to stay at the top of A division as the scores shuffled, proving their skills against the fleet.

Gilda Dondona ‘28 and Halina Diehl ‘30 raced at the top of the fleet across the Cayuga Clash and the Seneca Showdown. Gilda and Halina posted 21 points across 10 races, including mostly P1s and P2s, showing great consistency at the front of the pack. by @georgetown_sailing

I had the absolute pleasure of teaching @georgetown_sailing yoga on Friday afternoon. We sweated, we laughed, and ultimately we focused on how using breath to mitigate the fluctuation of thought can improve performance on the water, and well, anywhere. They are coolest yogis and yoginis. ‘Till next time, GUST. ❤️ by @georgetown_sailing
