I was very happy to debut my new magic lantern show last month- called "Kivlemøyane" as it is an illustration of the traditional Norwegian legend and fiddle tune suite by the same name. Thank you to Arts After Dark Crankie Festival and Maryland Center for History and Culture for hosting me along with many great other artists at the crankie festival, and Baltimore stars Valeska Populoh and Marian McGlaughlin at MCHC. And @side_a_photo for these great pictures. Next performance of this piece will be at Animation Love Affair's Shadow and Sound event in one week! by @georgia.beatty

I am working more with paper and ink and other materials, building little homes for some of the creatures that visit me.

I'll be selling the art at shows etc. This print is called Garden Angel and you can currently find her online with some of her other friends (bandcamp merch / website shop) or at some of my upcoming events. I am hoping this art helps people feel that the unseen is real and we are connected by all forms of love, by song. ✨ by @georgia.beatty

So grateful for this night, June 14 at Normals, celebrating one year of my album, book, magic lantern show- The Book of Stars! An amazing opening set by Curving Tooth and the big wide open energy pulsing through you in the audience made it very special. Thank you all who came and thank you Baltimore for being a place for magic and the people who make it. I am so lucky to live amongst my heroes.

The Book of Stars Magic Lantern Show (trailer)
.
This show weaves songs from the album with a live telling of the folktale about an ancient Light Queen under the glow of hand painted art projected by the Victorian child's favorite toy.
.
One year old this June 14. Come see it live at our special anniversary show with Curving Tooth at Normals, Eight Pm. 🌞

The Book of Stars folktale, album and magic lantern show will turn 1 year old next month. To celebrate, I'll be performing the songs & story by the glow of the magic lantern at Normals, alongside a very special set by Baltimore's astral witches Curving Tooth. You are invited! We can't wait.

I added a sample of my folktale, The Book of Stars: Stories of the Light Queen to my website and Bandcamp this week- take a look! Now you can have a peek at how this story begins, and one of the many beautiful illustrations by Rachel Wojnar. I offer a combo-meal-deal with the book plus a CD or cassette being only 20 dollars, saving you ten bucks if you were going to buy them separate. The fragments live well on their own, and vibrate differently when they're together, what a joy to watch them disseminate. I hope each of you who already hold a copy have been enjoying the story of the Light Queen!

I want to share another moment from the Book of Stars tour, this being the show at Black Cherry Puppet Theatre. It was so exciting to start the traveling life of this show, I can't wait to bring it back on the road again. (📷 @_melissa.hyatt_ @annewattsworld ) by @georgia.beatty
