Happy Breadiversary to me!
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
(from a journal entry 4/13/20)
“I’ve been sick, blue, re-evaluating, climbing out.
Baking bread
Hour by hour living
Self-care
Monday-new day”

When I tell people baking bread saved me this past year I do not exaggerate. I baked a loaf of bread on 4/13, grabbed the rope and hung on. What started as a method of survival for me has blessedly grown into the idea of now sharing bread with my friends and community. My hands just feel better in dough, useful again and happy.
Thank you, Ed and the Other One (yes, I am one of those people who named their starters). Making a wish I serve you both well and make good things to eat.
❤️

Dark side of the boule?
Trying out some new techniques and flour combos. Every loaf is a learning and love figuring things out. As my oldest tells me “Happy hands, happy life”.
Indeed.

Roasted garlic, rosemary and Maldon salt focaccia: warm, chewy, flavorful and makes the kitchen smell amazing! Putting this on the Heart in Hand menu for sure!

Ya girls really out here being superheroes for the planet!!!!

We got so much done today. 10 bags of trash. We plan to do this every Sunday!

The only thing I need to remember for next time is to make a sign so that people won't continue to liter. Art friends, if you got some design ideas, hmu.

Also thinking it's time to look into getting government funding or aid and security for this area. Like building a fence or wall to prevent people from throwing stuff over and putting more trash cans on the sidewalks too.

Thank you so much Georgia and Alana for helping the earth. Get lots of rest tonight and sweet dreams to you my love 😘💞🥰

The only song I hear when I see these majestic trees. Thank you, Anne❤️👑

Sycamore

I walk in the wintertime,
I walk in the wintertime
Steadily remembering the way, steadily recollecting the way
I feel sorry for what happened
I feel sorry you lost face
Ah, let go that last possession
Ah, let go your place
Every day is a resurrection
The way a sycamore sheds its bark
Do you wanna savor the connection
Or do you wanna lie here in the dark, forever?
There you are recreating
The storms that blow sycamores down
Are you the wind, are you the weather
Are you a seizing in the ground, my brother?
Do you wanna walk in the wintertime
Do you wanna walk in the wintertime
Steadily remembering the way
Steadily recollecting the way

Boister,
Your Wound Is Your Crown
