Welcome to my passion project! My name is Gabby and I have a love for traveling and creative writing, so I decided to combine the two and create a travel blog! For the longest time, I have always dreamed of creating a travel blog to share my adventures, so I finally did it! I am still in the early stages of this process, but hoping to share my itineraries with an audience that also has a passion for traveling.

Check out the link in my bio to view my website and to read my itineraries. Many more destinations are coming soon!

Thanks for all the support! 💙 by @getawayswithgabby

But I don’t want all the leaves to fall down!!

One year of GetawaysWithGabby!

It’s been one year since I launched this account and went live with my travel blog! 🥳🥳

Time really does fly! It’s been a rewarding first year and a year of personal growth. I have learned so much along the way, so I thought it would be nice to reflect upon it and share my thoughts about my one year journey creating content.

I am truly grateful to be a member of the travel community and I am grateful for the relationships that have developed this past year—even if we just support one another by interacting with each other on this app, I am grateful for our friendship!

I can’t wait for this next year to continue to explore, grow and learn along the way! ✈️🌎🥰✨

Feel free to share more advice or what you have learned in the comments !! by @getawayswithgabby

my favorite fall days are the ones when the sun is shining and the sky is blue ☀️🍂🧡

It felt like summer on top of this mountain ✨

📍Anthony’s Nose Trail in Cortland Manor, New York

The summit offers views of Bear Mountain and the Bear Mountain Bridge crossing the Hudson River. It is rated as a moderate difficulty hike and is only 2.6 miles (4.18km) round trip from the base of Route 9D. The first half is a steep ascent and then it’s moderately flat to reach the summit. Some of the trail is a well maintained staircase (as pictured)!

You can park for free on Route 9D!

Also, it is a pretty popular trail so be prepared for crowds — especially on beautiful weekends in the fall! 💛

feeling so lucky that I get to experience beautiful fall days without traveling far 🧡

Autumn in New York 🍂🎃☔️☀️🥾

Clips from Rockefeller State Park Preserve, Anthony’s Nose Trail, and the village of Cold Spring! ✨

Rainy afternoon in Cold Spring, New York ☔️🍂

Coffee and appetizers @cozycornercafe.ny ☕️💕

Despite the rain, we were able to sit outside on their covered patio and stayed dry!

Definitely try their Empanadas! (They brought us back to Argentina!)

Cold Spring’s Main Street is the place to be!

It is part of the Cold Spring Historic District and features preserved buildings from the 19th century!

The street is home to sooo many restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, cafes, and offers views of the Hudson River!

Drinks and bar food at Doug’s Pretty Good Pub! 🍻🏈

Perfect place to watch sports on TV and relax. Be sure to try their chicken wings!

Walk all the way down Main Street and walk through the small underground tunnel to reach the Water Front!

Admire the foliage and watch the freight trains go by! 🍂🚂

Cold Spring is located in Putnam County, New York - about 50 miles north of NYC! 🏙️

Cold Spring is only a 1 hour and 20 minute train ride on Metro North Line from Grand Central Station in NYC! 🚊

We drove and appreciated the free weekend parking at the train station!

Our afternoon in Cold Spring was rainy, but we still had a lovely time! 💚

I originally wanted to add a morning hike at the nearby Hudson Highlands State Park, but the weather had different plans!

I’m looking forward to my next day trip to Cold Spring!✨ by @getawayswithgabby

sometimes all you need is beautiful sunset 🌅🌎

and sometimes you don’t have to travel far 🏡🥰 by @getawayswithgabby

It’s beginning to look like fall 🧡🍂

📍Bear Mountain State Park, New York

Bear Mountain takes a little over an hour to get to from NYC and the park offers hiking trails, a zoo, a beautiful lake, a nature center, an onsite inn, a seasonal ice skating rink, and even more activities!

There are many hiking trails to choose from depending on your preferred level of difficulty. The popular Perkins Memorial Tower trail offers an accessible option where you can drive to the summit and see the views of the Hudson River and surrounding areas!

Tips: Arrive early to beat the crowds, especially in autumn! Also, bring $10 cash to park at the state park entrance!

I’m looking to more hikes this season in the Hudson Valley so I can continue to admire the foliage ! 💛🍁🥾🍂✨
