Winter’s coming and we’re ready! 51 days until chairlifts are spinning in Aspen.

Ski film premieres this weekend, breakfast chats about “Pussyfoot to Blondie’s,” fielding random questions about “how soon Red’s will be open” and talking through the pros and cons about possible trips to Alta or Jackson all with our boys. Brie wasn’t messing around. She danced bell to bell at Jake and Erica’s wedding. I’m exhausted and happy from trying to keep up with her all night on the dance floor. Love her! #fitzlove

We summered hard!

School started today—second grade for Boone and fifth grade for Duke—after an all-time summer of freedom and downtime, trips and adventures, waves and rides, friends and family, games and concerts, swimming and hiking, camping and sailing, mountains and beach.

I’m sick of fun.

Kauai is special. We absolutely nailed this trip as a crew. We learned that Boone goes left and Duke goes right. We were reminded that Brie loves water slides and adapts very quickly to this island’s pace. We sailed around the Na Pali coast, watched Duke paddle into his own waves, hung in Hanalei when the sun was out, staged out of the south to juice Poipu’s weather and swell, saw Boone surf his brains out, and logged awesome time as a foursome. 25-26 Ski Season Recap

[tl;dr] One of my favorite seasons of all time!

Coverage was thin and powder days were sparse, but we had SO much fun! We all climbed to the top of new mountains and some of us stood on top of podiums, we skied whatever the conditions were and found joy in variable snow, we traveled and logged a lot of time at The Shop in Aspen, we made the most of the soft snow that fell and shared days with friends in the mountains. We mostly went to Ajax, sometimes to Highlands, and never to Snowmass! We experienced new terrain on trips, and we got to ski classics in different zones. There were family days, solo laps, and work trips.

People keep calling last season “the year that never was” but I’ll remember 25-26 as a poignant reminder that skiing is fun. Regardless of the snow report, our boys woke up early and came downstairs in base layers ready to go every day that they got to ski (until baseball started and then they immediately shifted gears). I got to climb new mountains with my wife and our boys, brands I care about and colleagues on work trips. Days were logged from Aspen to Alta, Vail to Monarch, Sunlight to Steamboat, and Park City to Cooke City!

Gear is now packed away until August’s adventures to the Southern Hemisphere. We’re rocking flip flops and baseball cleats. We’re talking about surfing, fishing, mountain bikes, and backpacking. But summer is overrated. I’m ready for next winter!

We got Cooked!

Last week we headed up to Cooke City, Montana. It was a work trip with Blizzard & Tecnica to launch the Decoy ski boot and the Canvas ski with an all-star roster of athletes, storytellers, photographers, editors, and writers.

There was no cell service and WiFi was fickle. That was the point! We went off the grid to test product, share stories, ski big lines, take pictures, and work on earned media assignments.

Like I said, it was a work trip (Chair 6 Collective style).

In vino veritas.

Italian photo dump from Spring Break 2026. Our family converged in Tuscany to celebrate Chief’s 70th birthday. We traveled as a quartet and we did it properly: cobblestone alleyways and winding dirt roads, classic plates of food and old bottles of wine, cities and countryside, espresso and gelato, history and exploring.

Throwback to a spring trip to the Arctic in 2019. Temps are raging in our mountains right now and I’m reminiscing about colder adventures.

We spent time on a work trip exploring the Abisko Alps in Sweden. Ski touring through “the land of the midnight sun,” tracking wolverines, finding roaming herds of reindeer, drinking Swedish coffee, and skiing in the Arctic.

I’ll never forget this one.
