In his interview with ELLE Man Arabia, renowned Syrian architect and interior designer Ghayth Maatouk opens up about his design aesthetic, which is both sleek and sophisticated, and how he strikes the perfect balance between creativity and timelessness in his projects. He states: ‘With time and experience, you develop a better understanding of the spaces you’re working on, and you learn to find the right balance of minimalism, allowing the essential aspects of a design to shine. However, I also incorporate unique elements or details that give the design a distinctive character without overwhelming the overall aesthetic.’

#NewArabVoices: Dubai and Beirut-based architect and interior designer Ghayth Maatouk (@ghaythmaatouk) does more than create beautiful homes: his focus is on enhancing clients’ wellbeing and creating a strong sense of their identity. This approach is on show in the latest Dubai residences Maatouk has designed: a contemporary Dubai Hills villa elevated with subtle illuminations and an arabesque-tiled outdoor mural, and an apartment in the city’s Downtown district decorated in Japandi style.

Autumn has always been my favourite season. Maybe it’s because it’s the Libra season, or maybe it’s the warmth, the colours, and the way everything feels a little richer this time of year. taken in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by @ghaythmaatouk
