Architecture and interiors are ultimately about creating a sense of place.

For architect and interior designer Ghayth Maatouk (@ghaythmaatouk ), this comes through in the way he brings together materials, light, proportions, and details to create spaces that feel natural, thoughtful, and personal.

His work balances form and function while allowing each space to develop its own character - creating interiors that are not only visually striking, but also made to be lived in and experienced.

"The overall intention was to create a sanctuary within Dubai’s constant hustle and bustle. The furniture and accessories were therefore carefully curated to blend seamlessly with the surrounding greens and natural light, while still giving the apartment a warm and distinctive character, especially considering that many of the ceramics and artworks throughout the home were created by the owner himself."

Designed by @ghaythmaatouk in Dubai, this residence embraces a refined approach to contemporary living, where natural light, warm timber tones, and carefully curated forms shape an atmosphere of understated luxury. Expansive glazing frames sweeping city views while soft linen drapes diffuse daylight gently through the interiors, creating a calm and airy spatial experience. The design language is minimal yet expressive, with sculptural furniture, rounded forms, and layered textures adding depth and warmth to the home.

The interiors balance restraint with character through a thoughtful mix of materials, organic silhouettes, and collectible pieces. Soft oak finishes, travertine surfaces, and muted green accents establish a palette that feels timeless and grounded. Bespoke furniture and curated artworks lend individuality to each space, while the open layout allows seamless visual continuity between the living, dining, and study areas.
Rooted in craftsmanship and proportion, the project reflects a sophisticated home that feels serene, elegant, and deeply personal.

@artdubai’s special edition… smaller this year, and even more meaningful for it. So glad it went ahead… seeing the city buzzing around art again is inspiring. Proud to know so many of the people making this scene what it is ✨
