There’s been a few changes in the “holiday resort” case aka left-over modules that somehow can pull off pretending to be a full system. Nano Rand is the newest member of the tripe, providing some ultra fast random cv into SMR and tasty noise for FM. The Squid also joins the gang after being replaced by a beast in the main case. Piston Honda and Rings are on the out. This system seems to want to take a more chaotic path. Hoping to find more lfos to feed into the SMR

Having A LOT OF FUN sending random LFOs into SMR with some audio rate modulation on the resonance of Ripples v2 to create a bit reducted sound, and some random FM dugging on the filter as well. SMR is winning me over big time!! Set your scale, rotate the spread and delicious stuff appears. PS: who would have guessed working in a sampling environment would mean even more knob turning and live manipulation 😍

Another afternoon spent getting to know this rag tag, thrown together, odd ball, sampling based system that I’ll be taking with me on a trip to Barcelona next week. Tried using Sport Mod to extract rhythms from random wave shapes, which kinda worked, but ended up returning to the triple gate generator batch, which is just mysterious enough for me to really like it. Off beat, on beat hits. Falling apart, then coming back together again. This time letting Rings add some riffs in a fixed scale with some Pam Pro magic in the mix. Can’t wait to use this to improvise with my mate @cirobc in a few days.

‘Pardinyas’ by ghost and tape is out now! Available on limited edition cassette – name your price for the digital version the next two weeks.

With this new work, Heine Christensen continues his explorations into the world of Eurorack. This ever-changing instrument has had a profound impact on his practice, pushing the boundaries of his (re)sampling and sound construction techniques. On Pardinyas, we hear the most minimal and abstract ghost and tape to date. Snippets of melody come and go, almost as if they’re playing a game of hide and seek, but before you even realize it, the abstraction has turned into a meaningful reality. Pardinyas marks a new chapter for ghost and tape, offering a subtle yet focused evolution of his sound, and once again, an ode to composing with sound.
