New kit day 🤩. The @attaquer All Day bibs and Orbknit jersey is my favorite combo 🤝

Real talk: there’s a lot of Alt-Cycling clothing brands out there but most of them are somehow missing the mark. Respecting cycling culture and aesthetic (which is the highest priority) while still somehow bringing fresh energy to the scene is incredibly difficult to balance. Attaquer does it just right, and beyond that the gear itself is of the absolute highest quality.

It’s a new Era. Modern XC bikes don’t have the same limitations they used to. They are as comfortable on the race track as they are on gnarly trails or even…skateparks?! The new @raceface Era SL wheels, cranks, and cockpit fit that same philosophy: light enough to race, but tough enough that I don’t have to think twice when I’m throwing down.

Little known fact: this new style of XC bike was first designed and engineered by @iamspecialized, largely on my home trails in Santa Cruz. And it shows. Among XC bikes, the Epic is king 👑

I’ve spent years bouncing between cycling disciplines looking for the part of the sport that still feels most authentic. These days, I keep ending up back at what’s been labeled “downcountry.” I hated the term when it first showed up, but I’ve come around.

For me, it strikes the right balance. It rewards fitness and skill without turning either into the entire point. You can train hard, ride technical terrain, hit jumps, or just have a good time with friends.

Out of all the bikes I own, my XC bike is the only one that truly feels unrestricted. I can roll out the front door and do whatever sounds fun that day. Long miles, technical trails, jumps—it handles all of it well enough that I never feel like I brought the wrong bike.

That sense of freedom and versatility has always been the core of cycling for me.
