Very happy to welcome Ghostloop to Noray Records.

His new album, The Distant Sea, is now available for pre-order and will be released on October 16th.

Built from modular synthesizers, field recordings and spontaneous one-take recordings, the album explores delicate textures, small imperfections and a quiet sense of melancholic warmth.

Thrilled to announce my new Radial EP on @ambientsoundscps.

I created these four tracks using my modular Eurorack system, combining tracked-down samples, drones, and melodies. The result is a more soundscape-driven and drone-oriented release than my usual work. #ambient #ambientmusic #dronemusic #ambientsoundscapes #eurorack

I hope you enjoy it.

Today is the day: I stumbled across the artist Ghostloop recently through his latest album release and spontaneously joined the Bandcamp listening session on a Sunday evening. To be honest, I can’t recall how I landed there or what first caught my eye—both the label and the artist were completely new to me. But the sound struck a chord immediately, and I bought the album right then and there.

Through a brief exchange, I discovered that he is based near the Baltic coast in Germany and that we share several musical touchstones from back in the day. I am incredibly grateful that he agreed to contribute this set to my Moments of Light 'n Darkness (MLD) series.

This set is being released today, May 1st, 2026—Tag der Arbeit (Labor Day). While the world outside focuses on the noise and external challanging struggles of our current time, this mix offers an invitation to turn inward, to sit with the stillness, and to acknowledge that true change is an internal process. I am firmly convinced: The revolution starts within you.

About the Artist
Christoph Vogel, performing as Ghostloop, carries a background rooted in late-’90s UK jungle and drum & bass. That formative connection to deep bass, rhythmic curiosity, and the warmth of worn-in samples still quietly informs his ambient work. The result is fragile, highly textured music that asks you to slow down, drift, and listen closely to the echoes of the past within the present.
@ghostloopmusic
If this set resonates with you, I highly recommend checking out the album that first drew me into his sound:

Welcome to Noray, Ghostloop 🌊

@ghostloopmusic makes ambient music inspired by the landscapes of Northern Germany and the Baltic Sea. Modular synthesizers, field recordings, and deep basslines come together in slow-moving, spacious soundscapes, where organic textures meet electronic detail.

His first release on Noray will be The Distant Sea, an album born from exploring his modular synthesizer, which he has been building over the past few years, together with field recordings captured using a new recorder and several microphones he built himself.

The Distant Sea will be released on October 16th.

Pre-order available this Friday, October 2nd.

As the @expertsleepers disting nt becomes more and more the brain of my ambient machine, it’s so cool to see a community bringing such stunning and useful algorithms to life.

The latest one is Haar by @ormermodular — a beautiful sea fog reverb that’s perfect for ambient, with a seriously cool interface. Check out the video to see it in action. ✨

Sounds are from: disting nt, @sdkc_instruments Helical, Plaits, @blukac.instruments Endless Processor & Morphagene plus lots of @intellijel sealegs #eurorack #ambientmusic #modularsynth #patching #lofimusic taken in Hamburg, Germany by @ghostloopmusic

Small generative patch 🌊

Plaits delivers the chords while the @sdkc_instruments Helical plays along. The @blukac.instruments Endless Processor samples the lines from Plaits, then erases them every 8 bars, creating a constantly shifting texture.

The output runs through @expertsleepers Disting NT for some extra processing and a generous amount of reverb. Everything then passes through Sealegs, FX Aid, and Clouds for the final wash.

Simple ingredients, constantly evolving results. ✨ #eurorackmodular #eurorack #modular #generativemusic #ambient by @ghostloopmusic

Main sample is a Rhodes loop, sliced and reshaped in Morphagene. Sustained by the endless processor from @blukac.instruments. @sdkc Helical handles the subtle bassline, while Plaits provides the chords, running through the @expertsleepers Disting NT as a second Clouds-style reverb.

Recently got in touch with @ormermodular , who created Shoal, an incredible 8-track sequencer algorithm running on the Disting NT with controllable randomness. It’s been a perfect companion for sequencing Plaits, Rings, and Helical, creating beautifully evolving patterns and textures. I can’t wait for the official release of Shoal for the @expertsleepers Disting NT! This is still in beta and the final release is coming soon…..#ambient #generativemusic #eurorack #modularsynthesizer #fieldrecording by @ghostloopmusic

A small generative patch built around the @makenoisemusic Morphagene.

The @blukac.instruments Endless Processor sustains the higher tones, while Clouds generates the evolving chords. Plaits handles the bassline, and the @expertsleepers Disting NT ties everything together. The @belaplatform Gliss adds subtle modulation to Clouds, bringing gentle movement to the patch.#ambient #generativemusic #dronemusic #eurorack #modularsynth by @ghostloopmusic
