After a long, dry summer, the rain found its way back to Ghost Ranch. 🌧️

The upper “ascent" section of Kitchen Mesa Trail (leading to the cliff surface) at Ghost Ranch will be temporarily closed to all hikers to conduct critical trail reconstruction.

Hikers can still enjoy the bosque approach and the lower loop through Kitchen Valley and signage will be clearly posted where the open section ends and the closure begins.

Trail closure dates are weather dependent and may fluctuate. by @ghostranchorg

We were honored to welcome Senator Martin Heinrich to northern New Mexico and Ghost Ranch for a recent visit centered on the land, history, and work that connects this place to the wider region.

Prior to his visit, we joined Senator Heinrich and New Mexico Land Conservancy (@nmlandconservancy) at the proposed uranium mining site in support of recently introduced legislation to protect the Chama watershed from uranium mining.

In conjunction with the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum (@okeeffemuseum), the visit included a tour of Georgia O’Keeffe’s home and land at Ghost Ranch, followed by time taking in Ghost Ranch’s landscape and night sky.
