So proud of this one today. Did his eye test with actual letters instead of pictures and most of the letter sounds he made were really clear and clear enough that the optician could understand. Days like our beach day holiday to #blackpool reminded me of something really simple. That I am blessed and grateful for my family, we may not have the most money at the moment or the most of anything. But what we have in abundance is love and life and health. So many profound moments hit me as I stood watching my family enjoying the seaside. It made it all worth it, the long drive, the money spent, the hard work, the intention to spend time together. We don’t need much, we just need each other, God and grace. I was nearly moved to tears knowing we were creating lifetime memories in each other’s presence. It made me realise, this is my #happyplace

People just don’t know some of the fire and floods me and @chromosomes_and_curls have been through as a family.

One of the single most challenging thing has been having Zephaniah aka Zephy. Faith is a real thing, and you never know you really have it until it’s tested. Zephy’s diagnosis challenged everything in my being and it rocked my faith in God.

My first son was born with one of the most challenging conditions you can hear your child has. Because it can and does affect everything.

But, our faith meant we saw his diagnosis through the lens of God’s will. It was hard, we prayed for it to be different, we prayed for God to heal him. Ironically God answered the second prayer as they said he may not survive and he is here 8 years later.

Zephy is the funniest member of our family, his personality is so strong and defined that I find it hard sometimes to see if that is just how he is or is it quirk of Down’s Syndrome. It is part of who he is, he is uniquely different and blessed.

It breaks my heart that so many people choose to terminate with pre-diagnosis. Because people with Down’s syndrome are just that, PEOPLE but with Down’s syndrome. It doesn’t define everything about the person, it may affect a lot of things, but that person is still a living, breathing human being with emotions, wants, needs and desires. At the forefront of that desire is love, loving Zephy has been the easiest thing. Learning how to navigate a world outside of that has been harder. It has been pleasantly surprising at times, and brutally heartbreaking at times. But to do it again I #wouldntchangeathing

@chromosomes_and_curls blessed me for my birthday with a surprise experience at my favourite restaurant @hawksmoorrestaurants and a stay @thegrovehotel . When I tell you it was the best meal of my life. We brought in my 40th properly!

Thankful for my Wife and an epic experience by the best restaurant. It was truly special!
