🎻🎻SYNTHESIS RELEASE DAY IS HERE!!🎻🎻 The day has finally arrived that SYNTHESIS: THE STRING QUARTET SESSIONS is released into the world for everyone to hear! At the moment, the only way to hear this epic recording (that the @wsj called “ingenious”) is by purchasing directly from @artistshareofficial . Link is in bio or at www.SynthesisSQS.com - thank you for directly supporting artist-driven recording projects! What started over 3 years ago with 15 large ensemble jazz composers writing 17 brand new works for string quartet has culminated into a revolutionary collection of nearly 3 hours of genre-breaking new music of which I’m extremely proud. It is truly an honor to present to the world the music of these incredible composers, performed with such precision and beauty by the 10 musicians on the album. Huge thank you (and congratulations 🎉) to all the composers and musicians for this epic, monumental achievement! Thank you also to Ryan Streber and Jessica Slaven at @oktavenaudio for the beautiful engineering, editing, and mixing and for being as crucial to the creation of this project as the composers, musicians, and myself; Oscar Zambrano (@zampolproductions for mastering with shimmering precision; @leo.mascaro for capturing the recording sessions so beautifully with his photos; and @aarongarz for his innovative, visionary, and striking album design. And finally, thank you to everyone that read this far - that gives me high hopes that you are willing to embark upon 3 hours of string quartets! 🤣 Happy listening! taken in New York, New York by @gilevansproject

✨Feature in @downbeat_mag ✨ I’ve been reading DownBeat since I first was interested in jazz and it has been the leading document of jazz for over 90 years. So seeing my name on the cover and face on a 4-page spread about the new album and my history with Gil Evans’ music is quite a “pinch me” moment. Thank you to Frank Alkyer, Ted Panken, and everyone at DownBeat for the lovely words and years of support of me and my projects. Also huge shoutout to @braithwaitekatz and everyone that made this album possible! Links in bio if you want to listen and/or buy! by @gilevansproject
