Riding bikes with good people remains undefeated.

I had the best time doing some more competitive bikepacking at @istraland.cc over the weekend, and I’ve come away with new friends, a deeper appreciation for what the human body can endure, valuable lessons on how to prepare better in the future, battered hands and a sore bum.

First time riding through the night and getting some big kilometres done in one go. Huge thank you to @roland.loesslein for being the best riding partner and riding easier for me when I asked you to, even though you could have easily ridden away, to @hristosfleturis for the karaoke and good times, to @himecta for laughing at my stupid jokes every night at dinner and to new friends @klemens.barth and @aunicorninthewoods for sharing the adventure. I wanted to go under 24 hours and whilst we ultimately finished just outside of that, I don’t want to sit here and list all of the ways in which we could have been more efficient, because I have no regrets about the race. I had fun from the start to the finish, and we even rolled in for a top 20 from the 300 or so participants. I loved every second and can’t wait to do some more silly bike rides soon by @gileywiley

Did some more competitive bike packing and along the way I was too busy hurting to take many photos but @melaniedaveid got some cute ones of Roland and I at the start. Crashing 2 days before @lakesnknoedel meant that I spent much of the 712km struggling to enjoy the riding and adapting to a new slightly less ambitious plan, but now that it’s over I’ve got some new core memories and some new stories to bore friends and family with. Couldn’t be prouder of the ride that @roland.loesslein put in and was delighted to share a few crazy days with him. The race was incredible and I can’t say thank you enough to all the people who supported me through the mental darkness to get to the finish, from the volunteers, fellow riders and all the friends who messaged me throughout, it meant a lot. Rolled in for 18th ✌️ by @gileywiley

got stuck into a road race again after 10 years, had cramps, got round.

10/10 would do again.

Did some competitive bikepacking over the weekend, and two fingers on my left hand are still feeling the affects of the rough trails. Absolutely loved @istraland.cc though and I find it hard to believe it was over five years since my previous bike race, and having done this and learnt so much, I might need to do some more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Like many people in the past 48 hours I’ve been playing around with the new generative AI fill tool that Adobe released for Photoshop. These two edits took me less than 10 minutes in total and whilst they’re not 100% realistic (I’d never eat pineapple pizza) the tool looks like it will have huge implications for a significant part of my job and that’s really exciting by @gileywiley
