I am thrilled to share my first glass creation Tiger Butterfly! I drew and carved my designs onto the blown glass vessel made by Duncan McClellan. This was my first time trying this technique and I am so happy with the results!

What do you want to see me make next?!

Nature artist Gillian Probert shares her Installation SWARM with public audiences yet again. Visit Drew Marc Studios within The Factory St Pete, open this Saturday Nov 23rd from 4-7pm, to see this art piece made from 300 real honeybees preserved in crystals hung from the ceiling.

You can even watch Gillian’s News Interview with Robert Boyd about this growing project on the ABC Action News Tampa Bay website by searching her name. “St. Pete woman turning insects into art while raising awareness for honey bees”

No bugs were harmed or purchased for the creation of this piece. The artist is deeply committed to creating art without disruption to the environment.

This work creates the illusion of a swarm of bees flying through a gallery space. Those who witness the hanging momento are reminded how crucial our pollinators are. Crystal pendants are also available for sale if you wish to take a piece of the sculpture home with you to keep close to your heart.

Previously exhibited at galleries such as:
The FL CraftArt Festival
The Factory
The Nielsen Center for Visual Arts

My proudest ceramic sculpture, Nest 1, is beautifully adorned with natural materials and a juicy glaze.

This sculpture contains a doves nest, vulture skull, wasps nests, wasps, and dragonflies all of which I ethically hand collected.

My Nest series represents the comfort that humans crave and the homes we build for ourselves.

I always get excited when I have enough bisqueware to do a glazing day!

Although I only show the dip in this video, I am also pouring glaze, painting glaze, and experimenting with glaze combos with these pieces.

I can’t wait to share how they come out of the 2nd firing! 🔥 taken in The Hive Community Clay by @gillianprobertart

Trying something new with clay! ✨

While I am no stranger to hand building with ceramic, this was my first time using molds to form basic vessels shapes. My favorite part was choosing how to decorate them at the end. It will be fun to decide how to glaze them next.

Stay tuned to see what else I make, how I make it, and most importantly, how I hope it makes you feel. 🤍

Just finished this mixed media collage for the upcoming show, “Body Language” at the Werk Gallery!

I was very excited to be personally invited for this exhibition. I revisited an artwork from college by mounting it to a thick canvas and added details to the edges using clippings from the latest Artisan Magazine. I thought it would be exciting to capture my magazine feature in the artwork itself as more of a collectable piece.

Mark your calendars for the opening reception Friday Nov 6th 5-9pm.

Still taking this moment in… 🥹💕 I made it into Artisan Magazine!

I’m so grateful to Keith Matter and Danni Matter for sharing my story with such beautiful detail. I hope it inspires other artists to continue on their creative paths.

This is only the beginning. ✨ by @gillianprobertart
