Our next Featured artist is @gillianprobertart Originally from San Diego, Gillian moved to Florida to earn degrees in Visual Arts and Business Management from Eckerd College. While she began as an illustrator, she fell in love with sculpture during college and has since found ways to bring her drawings to life in three-dimensional forms. In 2023, she was selected as one of Florida CraftArt’s Emerging Artists for her ceramic work featuring ethically collected insects and natural materials. This year, she was chosen as one of the Morean Arts Center’s Fresh Squeezed 10 Emerging Artists for her blown and carved glass vessels, which explore animal mimicry through a surreal lens. Working across glass, ceramic, and non-toxic resin, Gillian explores her deep connection to nature. This dedication has also led to community projects centered around creativity and conservation, including a project featuring real, ethically collected honey bees that has helped raise funds for The Nature Conservancy. Through her art and community work, Gillian hopes to inspire connection and deepen our relationship with the natural world in an increasingly digital age. #artistcollective #artistsofinstagram #artgallery #artists #art

New artwork by our Curator, Gillian Probert, is now on display in our gallery! Gillian’s work is inspired by her deep connection with nature, which she explores through intricate animal designs. The longer you spend with each piece, the more hidden imagery and layers of meaning you will discover. Although Gillian works across a range of media, nature is the thread that unites everything she creates. Come and discover her surreal interpretation of animal mimicry and the hidden connections that weave through the natural world—and ourselves. #artist #glassartist #emergingartist #glassgallery #visitstpeteclearwater
