I am officially “legal” in remission years, 18 years cancer free. For a long time, I did my best to become an expert in hiding my eye from the world, which only ever lead to shame in the woman that I am. I didn’t want my cancer to be a part of “me”, but I have since learned that I feel purpose when I share my story and allow myself to grieve the part of me that I lost. Romans 12:2 says “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”. The version of me that made myself small to appear “normal”, does not exist anymore. Wounds and all, I fought to be here. To my friends and family who only ever wanted me to embrace myself, I’m here and I’m not scared anymore. Thank you God for science, an amazing team of doctors, my support system, for second chances, and for the 18 extra years I was given on this earth. Here are some pictures to honor little me, and the me I am today (the Gillian from 4 years ago would’ve never posted an eyeless selfie so here’s to new beginnings 🥂) #bravenotperfect by @gillyworthamilly

oh to be blessed with a friend like you @gillyworthamilly 🤍

We’ve both been married a few months now so it feels right to finally post these slides I made awhile back!!
I was so excited when Taylor called me and told me he was going to propose to Gillian because that meant my best friend and I got to experience our bridal era together. We planned our weddings together, tried on and bought our dresses together, helped throw each others bachelorettes together, and finally, we got to stand by each others sides on some of our most important days of our lives.
Words can’t express how lucky and grateful it feels to have spent these special times together. We have truly seen each other through the worst and the best times of our lives. From our college days to being married women🥹
I love you SO MUCH bestie @gillyworthamilly 🤍 taken in Austin, Texas by @gillyworthamilly
