I picked up my DD-214 today. It’s been surreal looking back on the last eight years. Our nation’s most precious resource is its sons and daughters. In a world that so often encourages cynicism and tells us that nothing truly matters, I think back to the Marines I had the privilege of serving alongside. Their commitment to something greater than themselves, their willingness to serve, and the example they set are constant reminders of what truly matters. As I enter 1st CivDiv, their example continues to charge me.

I will be eternally grateful for the men and women I served alongside, the lessons they taught me, and the privilege of being part of the greatest team in the world. It’s been a hell of a ride! taken in Tun Tavern by @gilpinsta
