let’s take a trip down memory lane…

I met @missginachoi87 when I was 16 and she was 13. I was our school’s dance team captain and she was auditioning.

I kept hearing about this new girl who had the same name as me and was also Korean 😂

We instantly hit it off and she became like a little sister.

I’ll never forget all the times we’d hang out after school, singing, and harmonizing… we called ourselves “gina squared” 👯‍♀️

Fast forward to now, finally reunited and reconnected again 🩷💫

Gina: life has a way of orchestrating the most divine timing and I’m so thankful that after all these years, we still have our giggly moments, a shared obsession over music and our sparkly connection - but now with so much more depth and life experience.

I was proud of you back then and even more proud now. I’m behind you every step of the way as always.

I remember being on the phone with @lindsaykami when she told me about all of this.

She had everything.

The project she’d poured herself into, her dream actress attached, the moment she’d been working toward for years.

And then it fell apart.

And I found myself saying to her: what if this wasn’t God confusing you?

What if you were given the perfect package at the perfect time just to be shown, this still isn’t it.

And now you know.

That’s not a punishment. That’s permission. It’s a gift!

This conversation is one of my favourites I’ve ever had.

this has been a long time coming.

I kept trusting I’d feel when the timing was right, and recently I realized it was.

I didn’t want to force this into existence or plan it into perfection.
 this past year has honestly been one of the hardest of my life, but somewhere in it I met myself in a way I never had before.

and in that process it became clear there were conversations I couldn’t keep trying to fit into captions or content anymore.

so I started a podcast.

it’s called The Deep End.

it’s for remembering who you really are,
 letting your light come out of the shadows you learned to live in,
 and the kinds of conversations we’d end up in if we were sitting on the couch together.

I learned this the hard way…

you can’t hate yourself into a version you love.

growth comes from love...love for how you try, how you create, how you keep showing up.

for years I was chasing success, chasing validation, chasing some future version of me I thought would finally be enough.

but no amount of pressure brought me closer. It only made me smaller.

the version of you you’re dreaming of doesn’t arrive through hate.

she arrives when you start treating yourself like someone worth cheering for.

You’re not the problem.
The way you’ve been taught to relate to yourself is.

Trying to be more productive when you’re actually burnt out.

Trying to be more visible when you’re still scared of being seen.

Trying to show up “authentically” when you’re still trying to please the algorithm.

You keep wondering what’s wrong with you —
but the truth is…
you’re just tired.
Or scared.
Or still learning how to trust yourself.

This isn’t a permission slip to stay stuck.

But it is a reminder that the pressure you’ve internalized isn’t truth.

It’s not that you can’t do it…

It’s that no one ever showed you how to do it without shame.

⏸️ The next time you feel like:
you’re lazy
inconsistent
behind
or not enough…
pause before you self-blame and ask:

💭What am I actually afraid will happen if I slow down?
Or if I’m seen?
Or if I don’t catch up?

That’s where the real healing begins.

Even before I knew I was pregnant with her, I dreamed of moments like this.

Maybe it’s because I’ve always craved a deep mother-daughter connection…

Or maybe… some part of me always knew I was meant to be her mom.

Either way, I’ll never take these moments for granted.

It’s hard watching your baby grow up—because time seems to move in hyper speed when it comes to our kids.

But I’m learning to love every season of her evolution…

…because no matter how much she changes and grows up… at her core, she’ll always be her.
