Thank you for all of your birthday wishes and for taking time to think of me. I truly appreciate it!

My birthday always serves as a reminder that God is faithful. He is still keeping the covenant He made with my parents soon after I was born. I'm still alive. Still able to move on my own. I'm thriving and helping others with their health and well-being.

God is a promise keeper. He has carried me most of this past year as He gave me grace and space to grieve the loss of my Momma. He never missed a beat and even went above and beyond and helped my to thrive and excel despite feeling depleted. That's the Abba I serve. I look forward to whatever He will partner with me on in this new year. by @ginastcyr

Today is our 1st Mother's Day without you. It has been harder than I thought. But because of the mother you were and the goodness of the God we serve, I still have joy on my heart despite the sadness and pain.

I am the mother I am today because of you. You loved in action. Steadfast. Intentional. Practical. Every present. Unwavering. Sacrificial. Encouraging. Wise. I realize now that the drive to be a mother came from being loved by such an amazing mother. When I look back at our childhood the 1 thing that stands out the most is that you were always there! There when we got out of school. There with home-cooked meals we were hungry. There for family activities and vacations. There taking care of us when we were sick. There when we needed anything. There every day, every moment. Good or bad, you were there, loving us unconditionally.

While our time together was cut short, I am thankful for the almost 47 years I had you. While it is hard to live life without you, I know I will do it well because that is how you raised me. To never give up when life gets hard. To hold on to Jesus and still live out my purpose throught the storms of life. When the grief overcomes me I can still hear your voice telling me it's okay and that this is temporary. I look forward to seeing you again when Jesus returns. I wish it was yesterday but until than I will do as you taught me... carry on in His strength. The tears will flow but I will also have a smile as I remember you, your laugh, your smile, your hugs and thumps, your words of godly wisdom and encouragement.

Today starts National Nurse's Week! The theme is the Power of Nurses.

I have been a registered nurse for 28 years and I still love it. Is it easy? Nope! Is it worth it? Absolutely!

When I look at my 19 year old self graduating from Nursing school I see an ambitious young woman, ready to heal the sick and make an impact on the lives of others. Almost 3 decades later I believe I have been doing just that, even on days when I couldn't see it. But I didn't do it alone. I'm grateful for every other nurse, doctor, family member, friend, patient, and stranger who pour into me and encouraged me along the way. With God's grace, I will continue this journey for several more decades to come. Nursing isn't just a job to me. Never was. It has always been a God calling on my life.
