About four years ago, @smokedandsaltedbarbeque gifted us a cutting of his “purple graffiti” dragon fruit at one of the Merkado Saturdays @kubo.lb hosted by @flippfamily & @theamihanfarm, and today, we harvested our first one, a lesson in patience and the simple reminder that some things are really worth the wait! by @ginataangang

Another TIMPLA Cookbook Club meet up is in the books! In true @ciaosamin style, we gathered our community to share stories, reflections, and yummy, homemade dishes from GOOD THINGS: recipes and rituals to share with people you love. As our 6th meeting of this cookbook club, this gathering has become our own sacred ritual and we’re so thankful to host this space each season.

Once again, our hearts and bellies are full after our latest TIMPLA Cookbook Club gathering! We discussed and shared nourishing dishes from A FEATHER AND A FORK: 125 Intertribal Dishes from an Indigenous Food Warrior by @wahpepahskitchen. We enjoyed a rich discussion about our relationship to the land, the availability and seasonality of ingredients, colonization and food access, recipe modifications, and so much more.

the school garden has been taking some hits with the inconsistent weather and some little critters digging up plants, but we have a couple cheddar cauliflower growing. it doesn’t taste like cheddar, but the color resembles a block of cheddar cheese! by @ginataangang

Our first TIMPLA cookbook club gathering of 2026 was lovely! We shared dishes and reflections from chef @nite_nite_nite’s stunning MY CAMBODIA: A Khmer Cookbook. Featuring glass noodle and papaya salads, coconut pork, braised pork belly, caramelized catfish with tomato, stir fried tofu, coca cola chicken, egg ribbons, banana tapioca pudding, and all the pickles, we filled our hearts and bellies with Khmer stories and flavors. We even made kreoung together to a soundtrack of Khmer oldies! Big thanks to our friends at @belcantobooks @kubo.lb and to all who contributed! by @ginataangang
