Step into Chapter Five of our home remodel: The Boys Bunk Room.

When Tyson and I started dreaming about this room, one thing felt especially important to us: creating a space where the boys could grow up together.

Dax, River & Crew are so close in age, and I love knowing that some of their most ordinary childhood moments will happen right here—talking across their bunks when they should be sleeping, reading, laughing, playing, saying prayers together and waking up in the same room each morning.

So when I designed the Boys Bunk Room, I wanted the room itself to become part of those memories. The custom built-in bunks give each boy a space of his own, while the deep green color drenching, plaid @york_wallcoverings wallpaper, @beddysbeds bedding and layers of nautical details create this warm, collected little world around them.

But my favorite pieces are the ones that tell our family’s story—Tyson’s childhood trophies and Boy Scout uniform, the vintage rug we found while living in Italy, collected artwork and a little sailboat Tyson and I bought as newlyweds for the children we hoped we would someday have.

Those are the layers that make this room so much more than a beautifully designed space to me. It’s the backdrop to their childhood, and I hope someday they look back and remember just how special it was to grow up here together.
