At the beginning of this sketchbook, I was practicing animals with emotion. Somewhere along the way, it became a bird sketchbook.

Maybe it’s because I am using the Merlin app and keep discovering different birds to draw.

Today I finished the very last page of this sketchbook. Some highlights here 🤓 I think I’m ready to move on from birds for a while. What should I draw next?

This first seed packet zine came out of what this season has felt like here on the farm.

We’re growing flowers, fixing up the house, figuring out what this place wants to become, and trying to make something that feels like home as we go … with a lot of doubts and question marks.

The Riso 16p zine folds like a seed packet, but inside is a small illustrated story from this season of our life.

It’s available now through the link in my bio. 🌱

Thank you so much for all that have gotten one and supported this little project of mine! 🥹They are on the way to you!

I’m a flower farmer, and I made a seed packet about growing home.

The first issue of The Seed Packet is called Sprouting / 初芽. It came from the meadow, the old house, the flowers, the food, the bees, the compost, and the strange little work of missing my roots and trying to make a home.

It feels really good to finally share it.😃

You can find it now through the link in my bio.

Thanks @rebeccagreenillustration for helping film some footages🥹🫶

A new episode of A Slice of Illustration is now live. 🎉
This time, I’m looking at Aubrey Beardsley and the power of black, white, and space. His work is elegant, strange, theatrical, and full of lessons about how a page can hold tension, rhythm, and personality.

Thanks to our film friend, @dunatrossi , I don’t look like a ghost anymore. 🎉

A little field moment.

Sometimes the work is sketching, drawing, painting, printing, folding, cutting, packing, planting, picking.

And sometimes it is watching Boba and Luna run through the field and remembering that this is part of the work too. 🐶🐶@themeadowcny by @ginniehsu

I made a seed packet that opens into a zine.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the small printed objects we keep around us. Things that end up in drawers, pockets, sheds, studios, and garden tables. They seem simple, but sometimes they carry a whole world. 🌎😭😁🤗🫶

The seed packet is about flowers, home, memory, and what we carry into the next season.

Available now. Link in the bio.

Thank you to everyone who has subscribed, bought one, shared it, or supported this little project so far. It means the world to me.🥹🙏

A Kyle Story at The Meadow: Hive-Side Mowing 🐝🚜
Routine lawn care, performed with caution.

Tiny farm note: keeping the hive entrance and around clear helps the bees come and go easily.🤓 The bees were very unimpressed. We are learning stuff everyday at the farm.

Also I haven’t made an animated gif for a long long time 🥹 the frames almost took me out.

May so far 🌼 🌱 half farm, half studio, finding the rhythm ✏️

Today I’m in the studio making Ep. 2 of A Slice of Illustration for my blog and zines. Feeling productive, grounded, and motivated, too. Say what!??
