One night with Francis Picabia 🌙
Not your usual retrospective: tomorrow, @palazzorealemilano opens its doors to PICABIA. Aprire le porte della notte - and @girlsinmuseums was among the few that got to discover the exhibition during a special opening cocktail night!

Painter, poet, Dadaist, and one of the most unpredictable artists of the 20th century. Picabia never played by the rules. Impressionism, Cubism, abstraction, Surrealism… he kept reinventing himself, refusing to be pinned down.
This exhibition does the same.
Instead of a chronological path, we’ve been invited to spend an imaginary night with him, from dusk till dawn.

Each room is a different hour. Art, love, friendships, parties, pure creative chaos.
With over 170 works, this is the largest Picabia show ever staged in Italy and it’s curated by Anne Berest Picabia, his descendant.

A show that is worth visiting: intimate, unexpected, and completely free-spirited, just like him!

What if Matisse’s studio was actually a map of the world?

Today we had a first look at MATISSE, opening tomorrow at @mudec_official .

We all know Matisse for colour, pattern and those unmistakable lines. But this exhibition asks us to look a little closer, and beyond the usual story.

African art, Islamic arabesques, Russian icons, Chinese art, objects from the Pacific, Romanian textiles: #Matisse surrounded himself with forms and objects coming from different parts of the world, bringing them into his studios in Paris, Nice and Vence and, eventually, into his own visual language.

And this is where the last exhibition by @24orecultura in this venue “Matisse. Il mondo in una stanza” title starts to make perfect sense: the world, quite literally, entered the room.

Across around 100 works at #MUDEC Museo Delle Culture Milano, paintings, drawings and sculptures are shown alongside objects and textiles that belonged to or inspired the artist, revealing connections that can easily disappear behind the apparent ease and beauty of his images.

Look out for the monumental Océanie, the iconic Jazz plates, works connected to the Chapel of the Rosary in Vence, and a series of photographs taken by Matisse himself in Morocco, including previously unpublished images.

More than a Matisse retrospective, the exhibition is also an invitation to reconsider how encounters, exchanges (and appropriations) between cultures helped shape the language of modern art.

Stepping into the world of @patekphilippe #PPWatchArt2026 at CityOval feels less like visiting a watch exhibition and more like walking through time itself.

Founded in Geneva in 1839 by Antoine Norbert de Patek, a Polish visionary who crossed Europe looking for excellence, the story truly begins when he meets Jean Adrien Philippe, the brilliant French watchmaker who invented the keyless winding system. No more lost keys, no more opening the case every time you wanted to set the hands. Just pure, elegant precision.

From that encounter, Patek Philippe & Cie was born, and nearly two centuries later it remains the last independent, family-owned manufacture in Geneva, still guided by the Stern family.

What you see here in Milan is the largest #PatekPhilippe’s Watch Art Grand Exhibition ever staged: over 500 timepieces, rare museum pieces that rarely leave Geneva, live demonstrations of enamelling, engraving, micro-wood marquetry, and those legendary supercomplications that make you stop and hold your breath.

There is something quietly radical about watching centuries of craftsmanship unfold under the dome of the former Palazzo delle Scintille. Watches that once belonged to queens and inventors, side by side with pieces that still push the boundaries of what a mechanical movement can do.

If you love objects that carry history in their smallest details, this is one of those rare moments when the past feels completely present.

The exhibition is open until 18 October at CityOval, CityLife - Pro Tip: if you really love watches and want to take your time, skip the weekends and the crowds and visit the exhibition during weekdays.
