🎤 Meet Chrispine Andrew | KEYJana Talks, Songea

Chrispine Andrew, a Development Officer from Mbinga District Council, highlights the importance of creating platforms where young people can voice their challenges, exchange ideas and engage with leaders on issues affecting their lives and communities.

Through the #KEYJanaTalks dialogue, local leaders had the opportunity to listen to the challenges facing young people and demonstrate their commitment to working together towards addressing some of the issues raised.

Meaningful conversations are the starting point for action. Through #KEYJanaImpact, we continue strengthening collaboration between young people and decision-makers to ensure their voices are heard and their concerns translated into meaningful action. 🤝🏽

#YouthParticipation by @globalplatform_tanzania

Ten years after rural women from 22 African countries united around Mount Kilimanjaro, one question remains important:

What has changed and what still needs to change?
During the Kilimanjaro Initiative anniversary in Arusha, rural women reflected on a decade of organising, advocacy and collective action.

They recognised progress in awareness of land rights, women’s participation in decision-making and efforts to challenge discriminatory practices. But challenges remain. Many women still face insecure land rights, barriers to documentation, unequal inheritance practices and exclusion from decisions affecting their livelihoods.

Their message is that the journey cannot end with recognition. It must continue with implementation, accountability and real change in women’s lives.

What will it take to advance rural women’s land rights over the next decade?

At the 10th Anniversary of the Kilimanjaro Initiative, the @africanunion_official keynote highlighted the need to translate commitments into measurable policy action, institutional reforms and investments.

The priorities are clear:

🌱Strengthen gender-responsive land governance
🌱Invest in women’s leadership
🌱Expand access to productive resources
🌱Build sustainable partnerships and strengthen accountability.

Rural women are not merely beneficiaries of development . They are leaders, rights holders, producers and agents of Africa’s transformation.

The next decade must deliver change that women can experience in their daily lives.
