I thought I was going to First Thursdays to see some art at @sffirstthursdays & @dftsanfrancisco. I ended up meeting incredible artists, learning the pottery wheel, doing a little photography, and being dressed like… whatever this was. 😂 Nights like this are a great reminder of what makes ArtU special: talented people who are willing to create, experiment, teach each other, and have a lot of fun doing it. What a moment for women’s sports. What a moment for San Francisco.   We’re incredibly proud to be part of the team helping launch San Francisco Signal and to watch this next chapter of professional women’s sports take shape right here in the heart of the city.   From introducing the team to San Francisco to today’s announcement of its inaugural home at the iconic Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, it’s been exciting to help tell the story of a franchise that is thinking differently, building boldly and bringing even more energy to San Francisco’s sports landscape.   This is bigger than a venue announcement. What a day for San Francisco and the Bayview!   Today, our team joined FivePoint and an incredible group of civic and community leaders to officially break ground at the former Candlestick Park site, marking the start of a new waterfront community years in the making.   At full build-out, Candlestick is planned to bring more than 7,200 new homes to San Francisco, a vibrant innovation district, new jobs, parks and open space, while opening up 2.5 miles of public access to the Bay.   We were proud to celebrate alongside Mayor Daniel Lurie, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, former Mayor Willie Brown, FivePoint President & CEO Dan Hedigan, Suheil Totah, Dr. Veronica Hunnicutt and so many others who helped bring this milestone to life.   A big day for the Bayview. Launching a professional volleyball team feels like a full-circle moment!! 🙌🏼❤️ I grew up in North Dakota, where men’s volleyball was basically nonexistent. Thankfully, my mom coached, so I was always the first to volunteer as the extra practice player for her teams. If there was a volleyball in the gym, I wanted to be around it. As I got older, I found every men’s league I could and never passed up an opportunity to play. So playing a small role in bringing professional volleyball to the Bay Area? That’s pretty surreal. Last week, we officially launched the San Francisco Signal, and while everyone saw the logo reveal, the launch party, the media coverage, and the city turning red… what they didn’t see was everything that happened behind the scenes. For weeks, our days were filled with strategy sessions, media pitches, interview coordination, press releases, building PR kits, restaurant outreach, influencer partnerships, citywide activations, and a hundred last-minute pivots. PR is equal parts storytelling, logistics, creativity, and controlled chaos—and when launch day finally arrives, we just hope every moving piece comes together. This one did!! And… it felt so good! I’m incredibly grateful to have worked alongside @stephkeefemartin, @jeswolfe, @annavillierme, @emilymattoon, Charlie, Cherriza, and the entire Signal team. Your energy is contagious, and I’m grateful to have played even a small role in helping bring your vision to life. A huge shout-out to @petesittnick and the team at @epicsteak, who immediately said “yes” and hosted an incredible launch celebration with media, influencers, and partners. Thank you as well to the City of San Francisco, @illuminatethearts, and the many restaurants and local businesses that helped turn the city red. Watching an entire city embrace a brand-new team was incredibly rewarding!! Seeing San Francisco get excited about a sport that’s meant so much to me throughout my life made this one extra special. 👌🏻👌🏻 Let’s go, @sanfranciscosignal!!! So much more to come!
