We got 99 problems but the bridge ain't one
We’re running the Great North Run for @cftrustuk part of @team_ewan_cf @great_run

POSTS STORIES REELS

Good morning,

Happy Run Day everyone!

We’ve shared a lot of stories over the last few months through our place on the bridge initiative. We absolutely love the effort people have gone to and sent us their mini figure, not just this year but every year.

We’re happy to present our Place on the Bridge class of 2026, and a little poem from our mate Ewan.

If you see us on route today give us a cheer, if you shout “Team Ewan is Massive” that would make our day.

Lastly if you are happy to pop some change in our hat you can do so via our Just Giving page on our bio or in the link below.

Big love

Graham & Derick

Hi everyone 👋
As you’re scrolling nervously pre kick off why not take a look at this!
We have partnered with the awesome team at @minifigsme to support our cause.

The process is simple

For each Minifigure you customise and order on their website (www.minifigs.me) they will create 2 versions of your custom design. One for you and one for us.

For every order placed they are donating £10 to our cause too!

Furthermore you can get a 5% discount when you use discount code: gnrtynebridgefig

What you waiting for?

"2024 - the year of Place on the Bridge", said nobody outside of this very exclusive club (...of two of us)!
.
We've loved everything that the bridge has brought with it over the last 12 months - from being on the radio with @thisisheart (@adamlawrance @vickypattison ) and @hitsradionortheast (@thesandk ) to the shouts of "we seen ye on the telly" (thank you @bbcsport @jeanettekwakye @gabbylogan ) all the way along the @great_run course.

Earlier in the year we even got invited to the GNR's birthday party and met the founders and some other actual running legends and we did the GNR 10k but the biggest highlight of them all was seeing people buy into the idea of being part of 'Tyne Bridge 2.0' and sending us their own minifigures to be part of the madness!

Turning to the serious business of fundraising we managed to take our bridge total to just over £5k for the 3 years we've 'ran' and alongside others in @team_ewan_cf have now contributed to a grand total of over £73,000!!

There are no plans to slow down in 2025 and we already have some plans to build on what we've achieved to date. Thank you all for coming along on the journey with us and wishing you all the very best for 2025! G&D x

A massive happy birthday to Eva (Graham’s daughter). Have a mint day and don’t do anything we wouldn’t do!

Lots of love

Medal Monday** 🥇

As many of you know we are part of @team_ewan_cf , a group committed committed to raising money for the @cftrustuk formed shortly after Team Captain Ewan was diagnosed with CF.

This Medal Monday*, we want to recognize not only the individuals who ran yesterday but also the minis and juniors who participated on Saturday each playing a full part in fundraising and support. While the medals are great to show off, let’s not forget that there are countless others behind the scenes keeping everything running smoothly for us from transport and child care to meals and logistics.

A massive congratulations to everyone who took on the Great North Run yesterday, and a big shoutout to the organizers for yet another spectacular event!

*maybe Tuesday

Great North Run Tyne Bridge #newcastleupontyne #newcastle by @gnrtynebridge

We have a few of these to share still as we had so many this year 😂

A special place on the bridge for Graham this one. Even more so given we managed to give this little Dan Burn to the man himself at the start!

Thanks @sarahmacneil10 for this one!

Hope you had a great run today 👏 👏

“Just two blokes carrying a lump of plywood” 💪

Meet Derek and Graham, a well-known sight at the Great North Run, who built their own 12 foot replica of the Tyne Bridge to carry while running the Great North Run 💙

The replica weights over 20kg, a HUGE weight to be carrying all whilst running a half-marathon. But it’s all for a great cause - to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust 👏

The model bridge has evolved too, now featuring models of well-known figures including Ant and Dec, Sara Davies and Sir Brendan Foster ✨

Let’s show this pair some love because they certainly deserve it! ❤️
