This is where I stand after working with clients for over 2 decades.

And despite a perceivably cynical view, I feel there’s WAY more power in knowing that everything is changeable.

Including our healing.

I won’t cure you. But I can show you how to resolve the root cause of many of your symptoms.

YOU will be the cause of your own healing. And I’m just here to facilitate that.

My prayer for you is this…

Get the F out of your own way. 😮‍💨

And I say that with ALL the love in my heart 🥰

Tomorrow is not promised.

And your tomorrow self won’t be any better than your NOW self if you don’t work to prepare it for something better today.

NOW is all you’ve got.

And yes, you ARE worthy. 🥹

More updates made to the face app today 😮‍💨💅🏼

Building something that’s both effective and user friendly is SUPER detail oriented.

I’m SO thankful for my Beta group!!

They’re brutally honest and help me get the right feedback for functionality and flow before I go public with this project.

If you’re curious and want to join our Beta Testers, shoot me a DM.

The app is trained to read your face, identify common “signs of aging” and create a personalized protocol that includes face training, gua sha, lymph drainage, massage, and more.

For those of you are are choosing more natural ways of aging gracefully, this is for you 😘 by @goddessintelligence

Starbucks playing De La Soul is a vibe 💃🏼

Making more tweaks to my app before my client sessions begin.

Today’s gonna be a great day!

What’s got your attention today? by @goddessintelligence

Today’s app updates 🤯

So I’ve been building this face app and have a kick ass group of beta testers who give me really good feedback every day.

Some of my testers were struggling with how to do their daily practices without getting caught by distractions from notifications or getting lost doom scrolling.

Today, I built an offline mode into the app.

For people like me who go full airplane mode at night, the day’s program can still be accessed without being online.

Doing a little happy dance over here 💃🏼

If you want to join us in the Beta group, DM me. I’m looking for all ages and face types to test the flow, user experience and exercises. by @goddessintelligence

Today would have been my Tia Cindy’s birthday.

When she passed away last year, I lost a great friend.

And her absence is definitely felt.

So mom and I decided to celebrate her by doing what she loved the most…

Having a proper food adventure.

We started at a cute little Yemeni cafe. One my Tia said she wanted to try out right before her health took a dive.

The spiced coffee and cakes were amazing 🤤

She would have loved it!!

Then, we went for dinner next door at an incredible Pakistani place.

If there’s one thing she taught us most it’s to slow down, eat great food, and spend quality time with the people you love.

That was her legacy and we work to carry that on in her honor 🥹

We love you, Tia!!
Happy Heavenly Birthday 💖🙏🏼 by @goddessintelligence

Welp, this is my life now.

Currently obsessed with breaking the rules in bread making now to see what can happen 😅

What happens when I change this, add this, take away that, or completely alter the fermentation process?

Bake it straight from the fridge or let it temper?

Bulk ferment in the oven (turned off of course), on the counter or in the fridge?

Cover with a towel, or coat in olive oil, or cover with a towel and a plate or with some wrap to keep the moisture in?

If I leave it chilled for 19 hours, how does that impact the rise, crust and crumb? If temper it, how long does it need? And does each type of dough require a different method for chilling and tempering?

And what about shaping? Scoring depth and angles? How do these alter the end result?

As you can see, tiny tweaks can change how the dough lifts, bakes and tastes. Science is wild like this.

Never a dull moment.

Also, with all the note taking…I may need to stock up on more pens 🤣 by @goddessintelligence

Face app update 🫡 by @goddessintelligence

This weekend, I conquered a lot.

I helped mom set up and breakdown her yard sale.

Did a bunch of edits on my new face app based on feedback I got from my beta testers.

I prepped the garden for the rain.

Did all my laundry. Well, I got it washed anyway 🤌🏼

And baked.

A lot.

Which also meant I had to clean the kitchen multiple times and do 10 rounds of dishes 🤣

I was committed to figuring out this moisture ratio issue in creating a properly fermented yam bread.

And for the first time since probably culinary school, I even tried making bagels with the dough.

Super interesting discovery for me…

Both doughs had the same ingredients. Same cooking method.

With only one exception…

The one on the left had 20 more grams of starter.

Which lead to a softer crumb but also a LITTLE overproofing.

As you can just barely see on the edges of the bowl where the dough was rising. And in the shape of the loaf and bagels made with it.

Moisture on both of these is much better than my tester yesterday but because I increased only water instead of adding more yam puree, the intense flavor I got yesterday was minimized today.

Wah wah.

All in all though, not bad. I’m really happy I pushed the limits with these.

It was a lot of fun seeing how much I could “break the rules” without destroying the loaf altogether 😅

Time to put on my big girl panties and out my laundry away now so I don’t have to move it over on the bed to sleep.

How was your weekend? by @goddessintelligence

When I was a kid, we didn’t have a lot of money.

My mom worked multiple jobs to support me and if I experimented with something in the kitchen, our resources were so scarce, I had to eat it.

Those cinnamon sugar scrambled eggs probably traumatized me for life 😅

Even after I came out of culinary school back in ‘01, I felt that fear of making a mistake and wasting something.

It became part of my curriculum when I finally lost 80 pounds as I had to learn…

It’s okay to NOT eat the whole thing. Or even take one bite and ditch the rest.

With this year’s commitment to mastering bread baking, it’s taken me a while to work thru the mastering basics.

Instead of fearing the waste, I see value in locking in the foundations of a recipe before stretching the rules.

A very different approach.

And now, I’m finally starting to feel comfortable testing and risking more.

As is evident by today’s bounty.

With 20lbs of yams fresh from the garden this year, I had to find unique ways of using them before they start sprouting.

Here, I have 2 loaves with different hydration ratios, some sweet breads covered in sugar, butter and vanilla, an English muffin version, and pretzel balls.

So many lessons learned, as always 😅

But more than anything, I felt a part of my inner child heal today.

Feeling safe. Feeling calm. Feeling good about the outcome…and ALL the notes I took to track the results.

Never a dull moment in the learning process 😮‍💨 by @goddessintelligence

Everything is sprouting now 🥰

Looks like the compost tea-soaked soil did its job and all the seedlings are happy!!

Here we have watermelon (late in the season, I know), squash, peas, yams, cantaloupe (or cucumber…I planted both in the same area and the leaves look similar in the early stages 😅) and red potatoes.

SoCal weather is such a blessing for regenerative gardening. 👩🏼‍🌾

I’m always such a proud plant mama 🥹 by @goddessintelligence
