𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐁𝐘 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍 🌩️🗡️🛡️

This book is a lot. Like, A LOT.
Going into this book, I was a little intimidated by the negative reviews and all the ramblings I had seen from other readers. Yes, it’s 1344 pages long, and yes, it puts more emphasis on the gods than on the main characters. But was it really that bad? No.

I actually really enjoyed learning more about Odium, Cultivation, and Honor. Would less have been more in this situation? Probably. But still! We also got to know Szeth much better, which I absolutely loved.

The abundance of lore and action kept the pacing nicely balanced, and Sanderson once again managed to pull something special out of the bag during the final 100 pages, making the rest of the book feel worth ‘slogging’ through.

Overall, while it definitely felt like a lot at times, I enjoyed the journey more than I expected to. Lastly, Odium.. you piece of ****.. GAV?!

𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓

I’ve finally found my reading spark again! I’m nowhere near my old reading pace, but I’m learning to be happy with whatever I manage to read.

⬅︎ 𝗪𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 — What a thick boi… It took me a while to get through, but what a ride! Review coming soon.

⬇︎ 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 — Finally doing a buddy read with @thewordyfae !

➡︎ 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥’𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 — Finally diving back into Carl’s (but mostly Princess’s) world again.

𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐅𝐈𝐄

Welcome to a little corner of my messy bookshelves.
I’ve been reading a little slower lately, so the shelves aren’t filling up quite as quickly as they used to… but honestly, I don’t mind. There’s something quite nice about slowly watching a collection grow.

My dad made these bookshelves himself, and I love how perfectly they fit in with the rest of my woodsy, green home.

And that little detail on top? They’re puffins! We got them as a wedding gift, and apparently puffins mate for life. 🤍 How cute is that?

𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖: 𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐌 𝐁𝐘 𝐓. 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐅𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐑 🐛 🪲🪳

My first ever Kingfisher read is a fact! What a disgusting, creepy, addicting ride this book has been.

It’s a historical horror with a lot of, you probably already guessed it, bugs. The atmosphere was great, the writing vivid and the descriptions gave me the itch. Good stuff! The ending was a bit underwhelming after such a good buildup. Still, I enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more of Kingfisher’s work.

QOTD: What’s your preferable book height?

I don’t really mind the height as long as the book is floppy. A dense, compact book can be harder to read when I’m trying not to damage the spine. That said, they are definitely easier to travel with.

Both books were a blast to read. R.F. Kuang’s books are always such a treat, although I sometimes feel a bit stupid because I don’t always understand everything. I can’t wait to continue with the Dungeon Crawler Carl series! by @goghscafe

𝐆𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐍 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃..

Hi! It’s me. It’s been a while. Life got so busy I had to prioritize and unfortunately I had to temporarily leave bookstagram. I’m glad to be back again and finally catch up with you all! I’ve missed you all, a lot.

I also read a lot less than I expected but I’m glad to finally pick it up again. I’m currently reading Wind and Truth (45% in) and it feels like coming home. I missed Sanderson’s writing style.

QOTD: What’s your current read?

I got some lovely presents for my birthday last week, like the bookbox of Game of Thrones. It was time I gave these books a go, and so far so good! I forgot how young the characters actually are, oops. Game of thrones

QOTD: Which spooky/fall read are you excited for?

I can’t wait for fall to begin so I can throw myself in spooky reads. The Alex Stern-series are a favorite of mine so I’ll probably reread them this year! by @goghscafe

QOTD: Why do holidays always fly by so fast?

I can’t wait for my next one. Last week was my first week back and it’s a shitshow. I’m already exhausted. Welcome to healthcare!

In the meantime, enjoy some of my pictures of Norway. What a beautiful country! Will definitely go back one day.

And to conclude, I read three books in this holiday. I can’t complain! I read:
