5 Books I’m making sure I read before the end of the year👀
QOTD: what book are you making sure you read before 2027?

From this list I have already read A Short Stay in Hell and it was absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend if you haven’t read it already! It’s short but it packs a punch!

SERIES SPOTLIGHT: EMPIRE OF THE VAMPIRE by @misterkristoff 🩸🥀🖤
QOTD: have you read this series yet?

If you’ve read this series already, you know how absolutely incredible these books are! Even though I haven’t finished Damned (I’m 50% through) this series is already in my top 5! It is such an incredible story, full of so many twists and turns. The characters are all amazing and the illustrations throughout the books are something I really love 🤩

I was lucky enough to get them both Hardback for my birthday and Damned is even signed! So excited to add these to the collection because the covers are beautiful 🤩

I’ve tagged a few to showcase your current favourite series, but no pressure at all 🙂‍↕️ I hope you all have amazing weekends 🌹❤️

🔖 How similar is our taste in books?

— Thank you @opheliagirls for tagging me 💙

I’m curious to know how many of these books have you read, loved or maybe didn’t vibe with. And of course, i’d love to know how similar our reading tastes are. Drop your scores in the comments (If my math’s right, the highest possible score is 300!).

My post was inspired by @whatsjoanareading so definitely go check hers out! 🦋

I’ve tagged a few of you to join this challenge, but no pressure! If I didn’t tag you and you’d still like to join, feel free to jump in. 🫶🏻

Gift of the shaper - @dl.jennings

If The Wheel of Time is Starbucks, then this is the coffee shop at the end of your road, easy to get into, welcoming, comfortable, homemade with love and just so enjoyable to be in.

Gift of the Shaper has everything a classic fantasy needs, the story of good against evil, ancient beings, prophecy and weapons of power….Except that’s it’s all different, the ancients aren’t who you think, the weapon isn’t what you think and the plan is not what you expect, fuck, the characters aren’t even WHO you think.

I LOVED the journey, the characters were awesome and the multiple POVs were just perfect. Oh and the writing? so SO approachable, the whole book felt like a conversation with an old friend, filling you in on the crazy things they’ve done this year.

One thing to add, it’s not often you find a fantasy book like this, written by a (handsome) man with such a range of strong, unexpected female characters. I absolutely cannot wait to continue this series 👌

ONE BOOK THREE QUOTES CHALLENGE 🌹🏛️❤️

Thanks for the tag @nomadliterature & @laurensreadingrainbow

Shock horror, Kylo does a Blake Crouch book for another challenge😂 BUT this book is absolutely beautiful and it has some incredible quotes in that I adore, so I think it’s valid! Also there’s four here because I just couldn’t choose 3, if I could I would have put the whole book here 😂

“He has made peace with the idea that part of life is facing your failures, and sometimes those failures are people you once loved.”

“He has wondered lately if that’s all living really is—one long goodbye to those we love.”

“When every memory contains a universe, what does simple even mean?”

“My soul knows your soul. In any time.”

I absolutely loved this book and I don’t know why but I hold such a strong emotional connection to it. These quotes really do sum up the complicated beauty behind this story & is part of the reason I love it so much!

Tagged a few of you in this challenge, but no pressure! Hope you all have amazing weekends 🌹❤️

✨📚 MARCH 📚✨

This challenge has become a monthly tradition, so I figured today would be a good time to share some updates and highlights for March!

1️⃣ Work has been keeping me busy (both full-time and part-time), but at least it means I can treat myself to more books now that my BBB is over. 😅

2️⃣ Getting IG jailed was not a fun experience. It’s frustrating to see so many people dealing with this lately, and whatever ploy this platform is running, whether to push upgrades or subscriptions, feels shady. What’s the point of socializing if they punish you for engaging?

3️⃣ Being forced to take a break was annoying, but it did let me focus more on work and reading. Still, I’d rather do it on my own terms.

4️⃣ On a lighter note, I’m so excited to meet some booksta friends in real life! I’ll be seeing my fellow Carolinian @raemoondancer soon, and since I’ll be attending Joe Abercrombie’s talk in NYC, I get to meet @jaynesbookedheart and possibly more. 💙

Thank you for the tag @abbiesbookworld and @boetbooks! I’ll be tagging some people to do this but feel free if you want to. 💙

❓How’s your March been so far?

CHARACTERS WHO I WANT WITH ME IN BATTLE 💪⚔️

Thanks for the tag @fitandfantasizing & @calliescoffeecafe

It was so hard to narrow it down to just 5 but I think if I had these 5 characters with me in battle, there’s no chance we loose 😂

🐺 Red Rising: Sevro
Obvious choice I know but you’re telling me you wouldn’t choose the goblin to have your back? Loyal, brave and an absolute nightmare for enemies

🛸Project Hail Mary: Rocky
Really rouge one, BUT, intelligence alone, Rocky is one of the smartest characters in any book and I feel like he’d create a super weapon and other gadgets that would make our life so much easier😂

🌲Pines: Ethan Burke
Probably the weakest member of the team, but, Ethan Burke is a powerhouse when it comes to out smarting the enemy and playing them. He has insane battle smarts &. Is cool under unbelievable amounts of pressure!

⚔️Shadow of the Gods: Orka
Who else?? No words are needed to explain this ABSOLUTE WARRIOR, strongest member of the team by FAR, the goat 🐐

💀Morning Star: Ragnar
One of my favourite characters from the original trilogy. Insanely loyal, an absolute UNIT and a stained? Him and Orka would make an absolute dream team.

Tagged a few of you to give this challenge a go, but absolutely no pressure!

✨️ TBR soon(ish) ✨️

A big thankyou to the most excellent @bookmadlibrarian for the tag. I'm hoping to use this as a way of ticking some of these books off my list, I've had some of them for far too long! Shadow Of The Gods will be a reread, I haven't read book 3 yet so I want to fully immerse myself in John Gwynne's world.

Are any of these on your TBR too?

Tagging a few to show off some of your TBR.

✨The Vibes I Bring To The Function ✨

… even though I have no idea what the function is? Can someone enlighten me please? 🤣

❔Do we have something in common?

Thank you so much to the amazing @an_infinte_of_tales and @book_munchie for the tag 💕🤩

I thought about trying to do something very artistic and aesthetic but that would not be me. Instead you get me unfiltered: chaotic, dependent on coffee, night owl, sarcastic, always exploring a fictional world or some far away corner in the real one and with a dark sense of humor. I swear I impersonate most of these in a good way!

Also had to include my two dogs and my bird because is there any universe where they are not the stars of the show? ✨

I tagged a few, but as per usual, no pressure 🥰

✨📚 Match the Album 📚✨

Happy Friday! I’m back at it again, combining challenges because why not? Big thanks to @birdsandbooks_ and @bookishbugg for tagging me in the ‘Match the Album’ challenge! I paired one of my favorite albums with some equally stunning Navy & Pink and Blue & Purple books, inspired by @jessletmeread’s tags.

Alabama Shakes’ Sound & Color vibes so well with this dreamy flatlay… each book bursting with color and bringing the same bold energy as the album. 💙

I’m tagging some friends to join the fun but no pressure! If you feel like doing it, please do so. 🤭
