Sometimes the best feeling is putting in the work quietly, showing up, and eventually letting the work speak for you.

My first Action Steel match was 9/20/2025. The most recent match was 9/27/2026. What’s 12 months look like for me?

That year wasn’t magic. It was consistency. Showing up. Being willing to listen to people better than me. Being a sponge. Staying curious. Having a growth mindset. Putting in the reps even when I wasn’t very good at something yet.

And that’s the part I think is worth sharing.

Progress takes time. It isn’t always linear. And you don’t have to be good at something to start.

You have to be willing to be awkward. To fail. To learn. To adjust. And to keep showing up.

So if there’s something you keep thinking about doing, stop waiting to feel ready. Take the first step.

Because wishing for something doesn’t move you any closer to it.

Action does.

SUNSHINE GAMES 2026 — the goal was simple: shoot hard, move fast, and see what I could do. 🔥🔥🔥

What a match! Saturday at @volusiacountygunclub was a GOOD day.

Great stages, great variety, and some solid shooting. 3 stages over 60% in LO, with a few spots where I pushed the speed and liked what I saw.

The Honcho continues to make my job a little easier. 🔫

Action Steel kind of morning. 🔥

Felt GOOD today. So naturally, I decided to push the speed a little and see what happened. 😏

Shot the Honcho and I’m not gonna lie… I’m really freaking loving this pistol. 🔥🔫

The itty-bitty credit card targets and I still have some unresolved issues. 😂 Thankfully, there were only a couple today because apparently the match director understands that I have boundaries. @mannybragg

Overall? Good day. Good shooting. Good squad. Good vibes. And a great range @volusiacountygunclub

And yes… I’ll be back to annoy those tiny targets again soon.

Progress doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it just looks like going a little faster and realizing you’re still putting the rounds where they belong.

I’ll take it. 😎

A few stages from the weekend that felt really good. 🔥

Saturday USPSA — Stage 2: 21A / 8C. Zero D’s, Mikes or penalties.
5.1745 HF | 18/41 LO | 33/83 Overall

Stage 1 brought my highest HF of the match: 5.3131
23A / 8C / 1D | 22nd LO | 59.89%

Sunday Action Steel with Aunt Elaine and my gunny pals Amy & Andy. Stage 1 was my best finish of the day: 19/64.

The goal isn’t to have a perfect match, or stage even. It’s to evaluate, identify the opportunities, and build the habits that make the next match better.

Keep shooting. Keep learning. Keep adjusting. Keep getting better. 🔥

DO. THE. THING.

You know that thing you’ve been thinking about doing?

The thing you want to try, but you’re not sure you’re READY for?

Here’s the truth:
READY is not a FEELING.
READY is a DECISION.

You’re never going to feel completely ready to do something you’ve never done before. And you won’t know if you’re good at it until you TRY.

Take the first step.
Show up.
Suck a little. 😏
Learn.
Work at it.
Get better.
That’s how this works.

Nobody starts at the top. EVERYONE starts at the beginning. So stop waiting for confidence to magically appear before you take action.

Make the decision.
Sign up.
Show up.
DO. THE. THING.
Maybe you’ll suck at first.

GOOD. Now you have something to work with. To grow from.

Go back. Put in the reps. Learn. Improve. Get GOOD. Because you will never regret starting.

But you might regret how much sooner you COULD HAVE started if you’d just stopped waiting to FEEL ready.

Take the first step. You’re READY when you DECIDE you are. 💪🔥

20 stages. Two days. One Honcho. And a whole lot of data. 🔫

Saturday started strong.

Stage 8: My first stage of the weekend and my highest Hit Factor of all 20 stages — 7.1773, finishing 30th/58 at 58.21%.

Stage 7: My best stage finish of the weekend — 18th/58 at 61.80%, with 90% of available points.

Stage 1: Another strong run at 24th/58 at 61.87%, with 89% of available points.

Then two side-by-side comparisons:

Stage 4: Two incredibly close runs. Sunday edged Saturday with one extra Alpha and no Mike, improving from 47.92% to 50.60%.

Stage 5: Another nearly identical pair of runs. Sunday converted one Delta to an Alpha, improving from 44.32% to 45.52%.

Sunday’s Stage 3 finished 28th/58 at 51.75%, followed by Stage 2 at 25th/58 at 45.58%.

Overall, I finished 30th/58 on Saturday at 51.69% and 38th/58 on Sunday at 43.85%.

Across the full field, I finished 70th/128 Saturday at 49.62% and 82nd/128 Sunday at 42.06%.

Not every run has to be a personal best. But these side-by-sides make the progress—and the opportunities—pretty damn easy to see.

I’m starting to see more stages where the plan, the movement and the shooting are actually looking like the version of me I’ve been working toward. The consistency still needs some work, but apparently I’ve decided that “getting better” wasn’t going to be subtle.

And Sunday’s squad? Absolute trouble. The kind of squad that makes a long match a hell of a lot more fun—and probably explains at least a little of why I voluntarily came back for Day 2 when my body was voting HELL NO. 😂 taken in Volusia County Gun & Hunt Club by @goodiereloaded

The “Oh No, No-No, Oh, No, No, No” Stage™ 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Stages 9 & 10 were set up like two strings with basically the same recipe… except because apparently we needed ✨character development✨, each one had its own little twist.

Stage 9: 2 rounds each on T1–T3, mandatory reload, then popper + out-n-in target weak hand only.
Stage 10: Same general setup, mandatory reload, but strong hand only for the popper — and in true @mannybragg fashion, why NOT throw a swinging steel plate into the mix that also has to be smoked one-handed? 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I was so focused on remembering the sequences, hitting my safety during the reload/hand transfer, and making those weak-hand hits that during Make Ready… I completely forgot to chamber my first round. 😫

Yep. Gun goes click.
Goodie goes, “Oh no.” 😂

Then came Stage 10.

During Make Ready, I forgot to unlock my holster. So when I went to draw and my gun wouldn’t come out, it took me a solid moment to figure out why. 🫠🫠

At this point, I’m pretty sure the stage was just personally offended by me.

BUT… redemption! 🙌🏻

I absolutely smoked the steel — popper AND swinging plate — first attempt, one-handed. 🔥

The time? 🫣 Let’s just call it character-building.

But the hits? I’ll take those all day. 😎

Apparently I can handle weak-hand-only, strong-hand-only, swinging steel and Manny’s shenanigans…

I just need to remember to load the damn gun and unlock the damn holster. 😂

Stage 5 today @volusiacountygunclub was one of those “trust the plan and let it rip” stages. 🔥

Had a good stage plan. Executed it. 56.76% stage finish with 89% of available points and a 5.59 HF. Not perfect—and that’s kinda the point. 😏 At least for me.

The goal isn’t to make every shot pretty. It’s to see it, trust it, SEND IT, and get to the next target.

Slowly but surely teaching this perfectionist that good enough is fast enough. 😂

Yesterday’s Manny’s Action Steel match was, as always, a blast! 🤘🏻 @volusiacountygunclub

Sharing Stages 1, 2 & 3 — with Stage 1 being my highest-finishing stage of the day with only 2 makeup shots! 🙌🏻

But let’s be honest… the greatest accomplishment of the day was beating Cory Patterson. 😜 IYKYK.

Stage 2 — best stage of the weekend for ya girl and my highest finish!

18th in LO yesterday / 27th overall combined, and I’ll happily take it. 💪🏼

Two days of hot, humid Florida shooting, followed by a long drive to Gainesville today for an All Classifier match and 8 stages that apparently had no interest in ending. 😂

This girl is officially TIRED. 🥵🔫

But damn… this weekend was a good one. The work is showing, the confidence is growing, and I’m starting to see the shooter I’ve been working to become. Slowly but surely.

Now somebody turn the lights out bcz this girl is cooked! by @goodiereloaded

Had a great day @volusiacountygunclub shooting the USPSA Match. Even got to shoot a stage in some pretty good rain and went home soaking wet 😂 Yes, I “get” to do that! Zero complaints. I get to move my body, challenge myself mentally, and continue to push outside my comfort zone.

My stage performances are getting more consistent and continue to improve, slowly but surely. Had an amazing squad again today and even got my Cuz @aj.figueroa3 out there with me for a “paper” match 😆 not his favorite thing (yet) but I’m slowly winning him over. by @goodiereloaded
