Thank you everyone who came to the opening last week, we had a great night with an amazing turnout to celebrate Melissa’s whimsical show.

For those who couldn’t make it or have had more time to think about adding a piece to their collection, remaining artwork is now available for purchase at the link in our bio and we will be posting them individually through the conclusion of Under These Stars With You in November.

Have a lovely week and enjoy the sunshine!🌙✨ taken in Good Luck Gallery MT by @goodluck_gallery

Happy Labor Day! While there is still time to see Falling Through the Spiral this week, we are excited to announce our next exhibition, 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂, a solo show by Melissa Lakey.

Join us 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟱 𝘁𝗼 𝟳 𝗣𝗠 for an evening of celebration featuring a special appearance by the artist herself, all the way from Joshua Tree, California!

Filled with dreamy figures, vivid landscapes, and a nostalgic vision of the American West, Lakey’s mixed media paintings blur the line between memory and imagination. Drawing inspiration from her childhood dreams of becoming a cowgirl and her current life in the Mojave Desert, the exhibition explores the magic of night, nature, and music in places where the soul can be at peace. taken in Good Luck Gallery MT by @goodluck_gallery

We’re highlighting the last of summer's flowers before these frosty mornings take over the late-season blooms completely. Stay tuned for more floral-themed works all week.

We love to see a bison at home in Montana; this one has been a fan favorite among visitors, and we’re so glad it will be going to a loving home. Our favorite comment so far was from a little artist who said the white flowers looked like a field of fried eggs.

There is a lovely combination of desert and forest landscapes cohabitating in 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂; we especially love how Melissa has rendered her pine trees in this woodsy scene.

Melissa’s imaginative art makes it tempting to piece together each painting like a puzzle to create a little narrative with the recurring characters in this show. Stop by next week and try to make your own version of the story.

Reminder: We are closed today!

Many of Melissa’s pieces for this show have explored the bonds between a child and their parents; this week we’re highlighting some of those works. Up first is this scene set among a moody blue backdrop. Melissa does an amazing job of scaling her subjects to different sizes while maintaining the same expressive effect; this meadow of colorful pastel flowers is no exception.

This cowboy completes this pair of paintings, though they don’t necessarily have to be kept together, they sure complement each other. We love the deep, saturated hues in both of them, but the blue in this one seems to glow in the moonlight.

Put on your dancing shoes for today’s double feature. This sunny cowgirl is up right by the window catching all those early evening rays. The expressive oil stick linework found in much of Lakey’s paintings is especially eyecatching in these two works.

This one’s for the nights spent outside by the firelight with friends, especially our furry ones. Though it may be getting colder, there’s still plenty of campfire songs to go around before winter, even if there aren't any pretty flowers to sit among.
