Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere has launched a Twilight Spa Package for £175pp, pairing a 60-minute Kama Ayurveda facial or massage with full access to the pools, thermal suite and relaxation spaces. Set across 157 acres of Cheshire countryside, the newly-opened Fairmont Spa features a 20-metre pool, Finnish sauna, ice baths, Hammam steam rooms and salt inhalation chambers, alongside treatments from Kama Ayurveda, Wildsmith Skin and 111SKIN. The package runs from Monday to Friday.

What's bubbling this October...

SONARA, a new fine bathing and dining club, will open on King's Road, Chelsea, in late 2026, reviving the bathhouse as a place to gather, eat and unwind. At its heart is Banya: a heat, steam and cold-immersion ritual guided by trained Steam Masters, including traditional whisk steaming, alongside a range of wellness and longevity treatments. Dining is woven throughout, from pre-steam drinks to shared dinners. Spread across 1,500 square metres and two floors, SONARA welcomes both members and day guests.

Reykjaböð Hot Springs, a new geothermal retreat in Iceland's Reykjadalur Valley near Hveragerði, has opened with a thermal journey built around contrast therapy. Outdoor natural hot spring lagoons sit alongside an event sauna, cold plunge, Kneipp pool and fire pit, while the indoor bathhouse adds a herbal pool, sauna, steam bath, float pool and a snow room. Inspired by its Cotswold heritage, Hatherley Manor Spa is dedicated to natural wellbeing. There's a pool with garden views, a vitality pool and a thermal suite with a tepidarium and heated loungers. This September, the spa hosted its first Wellness Retreat, combining 30 minutes of yoga, a 30-minute sound bath, a 25-minute treatment, full spa access and a two-course wellness lunch. Its Floating Sound Bath returns on 25 October, with an hour of floating sound, evening spa access, an Apple & Raspberry Spritz and a light grazing board. Both have proved so popular that the team plans to add more dates, so keep an eye out.
