Jamie’s story is one of survival, determination, and the power of a second chance.

For decades, addiction and trauma shaped much of her life. In 2024, an overdose left Jamie in a coma for 14 days. When she survived, she knew something had changed.

She had been given another chance, and she was determined to make it count.

As Jamie began rebuilding her life, she learned about Goodwill Kentucky. What she found was more than a place to work. She found an opportunity to keep moving forward.

This Giving Day, your gift can help create more opportunities for Kentuckians working toward stability, self-sufficiency, and a brighter future.

Giving begins Nov. 9. by @goodwillky

🚨THIS IS NOT A DRILL— ITS AN EMERGENCY!! A FASHION EMERGENCY!!!🚨

I heard that hotline bling and someone was in need of a last minute look to do makeup at a haunted fashion show— but to then WALK in the fashion show!

To get something in the spot, I went to my local @goodwillky 👻👻

Shopping secondhand has been my go to since I was literally in diapers! I love curating something no one else could have, shopping sustainably, and hey- who doesn’t love a budget find?🤪 I also love supporting @goodwillky because I know my purchases are helping fund trainings and programs to help Kentuckians secure jobs and get back on their feet. Shopping here helps our Mother Earth and her people. 🫶🏽

In my typical squirrel brain fashion I struggled to keep focus because I just kept wanting to shop for me too🤣 Here’s the look I curated! Did I answer the call?🤪

As you’re curating the final looks for your Halloween costume(s), especially if you’re a last minute kind of person (like me haha), make sure to stop into your local @goodwillky, you’ll be so surprised how they could have literally anything you might need!💋

☎️ THE HALLOWEEN HOTLINE HAS BEEN ACTIVATED…

The challenge? Get to Goodwill Kentucky and find a last second costume for a Mysterious Gala… a night full of secrets, suspicious characters, and absolutely NO time to waste.

The clock was ticking. The pressure was on. And my mission was simple…

Find the outfit.
Solve the mystery.
Survive the gala.

But when you’re looking for a last minute Halloween costume, there’s one place that should always be on your radar: Goodwill.

From unexpected statement pieces to vintage finds, accessories, jackets, dresses, suits, and everything in between, Goodwill is the perfect place to find last second costume inspiration without spending a fortune. And honestly, sometimes the best costumes are the ones you never planned on finding.

So… would YOU have what it takes to complete the Halloween Hotline challenge?

Tell me in the comments: what would YOU create for a mysterious gala using only what you could find at Goodwill?

And if Halloween snuck up on you this year…

Consider this your sign to go hunting. The perfect costume might already be waiting for you.

🎬 THE END… OR IS IT?

Mission Monday 💙

Two and a half years sober. Custody of his children regained. A homeowner. A career moving forward.

For Robert, each milestone represents a piece of the life he has worked hard to rebuild.

After struggling with substance use, Robert entered Mercer County Drug Court in 2024 and committed himself to recovery. Along the way, he joined Goodwill Kentucky’s Lawrenceburg team, where opportunities through Work & Learn helped him gain new skills, earn industry certifications, and continue growing in his career.

Today, Robert is not only building a brighter future for himself and his children. He is using his experience to mentor others working toward their own fresh start.

This is what pathways out of poverty look like.

A job. A better job. A career. That’s what we’re working toward. 💙

At Goodwill Kentucky, we invest in our employees and their futures. Yesterday, we celebrated 14 graduates of our GR.E.A.T. leadership development program, equipping them with skills they’ll carry throughout their careers.

We’re so proud to be part of their journeys. Congratulations, Cohort 16!
