Most people see an old sewing cabinet. I see potential. ❤️

That’s why I said yes when Goodwill SWPA asked me to upcycle a piece for their Power of Work Awards auction!

I’m excited to give this overlooked piece a new life while supporting a mission that helps people and communities thrive.

Want to see the finished piece? Join me at the Power of Work Awards on October 28th.

🎟️ Tickets are on sale through October 19. Link below!

52 Weeks of Goodwill, Week 41: Meet Goodwill’s Project LIFE students Brennan, Balaji, Ryan, and Kraig, along with Xavier, Skills Trainer! These four students returned to Goodwill for the second year to expand their vocational training, employment, and independent living skills, and to explore various worksites.

Now in their second year of the program, they have experienced and completed rotations in departments such as E-Books and BurghBrew! “There’s a lot to know, but it’s getting me ready for the adult world, when I am ready,” Kraig says.

Looking ahead, our four students' goals include community immersion, enrolling in Project SEARCH, or utilizing OVR Supported Employment services. Brennan notes, “Learning job skills helps me get ready for after high school and my future.”

We wish our Project LIFE students the best of luck as they continue through their rotations and grow their skills!

Learn more about Project LIFE at the link in our bio.

All in one trip? 😱 I love finding items that feel like the Halloween from my childhood and I couldn’t believe it when I kept finding more and more! Last year, over 52 million pounds of donated items were diverted from the landfill through thrifting, repurposing, and reusing. I get to love these now for years to come and I hope they’re what my son remembers when he grows up 🎃👻
