It was an absolute pleasure to engineer for 'Blowing in the Wind' last night at @thebasementyork The event was both a celebration of Bob Dylan in the month of his 85th birthday (unquestionably one of the greatest poets of our time) and a fundraiser for @stleonardshospice . A full house was treated to some of Dylan's classic songs and some slightly more obscure ones courtesy of the magnificent fingers and voices of @stansmithmusic @rufiomercutio @dwardmac @angelinebmusic @lewis_inchley as well as Warren, and Mickey Deery. All fantastically compered by Bron! Don't worry if you missed it because they're doing the very same show again at All Saints Church, Holly bank Lane, Ripley next Friday (15th May). This is the 11th year that Stan Smith has been running this series of legends tribute gigs in aid of great causes across #Yorkshire #localmusic #livemusic #grassrootsmusic #York by @gooseandcommon

The energy at atmosphere in @thebasementyork last night was electric. @block33band were awesome! As if the spirit of the MOD movement had a child with classic Britpop. Wonderful to see a sell-out crowd with such a knowledge of and love for the band's catalogue. It was a pleasure twiddling the knobs for these guys! Block33 are completely independent - no industry hype, and still smashing the UK album charts! Support indie artists, and support your small, local venues. #modmusic #britpop #rockandroll #livemusic #independentartist by @gooseandcommon
Really enjoyed working at the @laughoutloudcomedyclubsuk gig at @thebasementyork last night! @tezilyas headlined and his set was a blast! If he is performing in a town near you, be sure to get yourself a ticket. #livecomedy #standup #LOL #laughoutloud #yorkshire by @gooseandcommon
Starting to build back a CD collection. :) De-digital service provider-ing the house, slowly, piece by piece. 🟢 Most environmentally friendly (generally) Used CDs → best (no new production + long lifespan) New CDs (if heavily used) → efficient over time Streaming (light use) → good for discovery, casual listening 🔴 Highest impact scenario Heavy streaming (especially high-quality or constant playback) → can surpass physical media emissions Streaming an album ~27+ times can exceed the emissions from producing a CD https://www.keele.ac.uk/about/news/2019/january/music/environmental-impact.php #fuckspotify #technofeudalism #ownit #hardcopy #sustainability by @gooseandcommon
What a night! It was fantastic to engineer for #LovePunkHateRacism 2 tonight. Fantastic as always to work with the @york_love_music_hate_racism crew. We saw 3 great bands take to the stage - thank you to somelionsband @_thebricksband_ and @strip.band for being awesome! :) (Pictures taken during sound-check as I can't get a decent shot once there's a room full of punks between me and the stage.) Thanks also to @jazzjazzyjazzmine_ for being a great compère, and presumably getting some much better pictures! :P I've been rubbish at posting about gigs this year, LPHR2 was immense. It was so positive to see such a great turn-out of young people for #LoveMusicHateRacism on the eve of the @togetheralliance march in #London. Regrettably I can't join the march tomorrow, but #solidarity with all who are showing the far-right that we are many and that they are few. Stay safe, and make yourselves heard. #StandUpToRacism #SUTR @yorksutr @lovemusichateracism #livemusic #lovemusic #york #punkisnotdead #RAR #rockagainstracism by @gooseandcommon
We had a fantastic morning filming some new short videos for our website and social media. With so many new faces connecting with us recently, we thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves and share a little more about what we do and the #livedexperience behind our work. A big thank you to the talented Jez at @gooseandcommon for directing us and generously giving his time and talent to support us. Watch this space… by @gooseandcommon

First attempt at sauerkraut. Perhaps a little too salty, but nevertheless a success. :) #sauerkraut #homemade #homemadefood by @gooseandcommon
In an age where we have never been as flooded with information, misinformation, and disinformation. When we have political prisoners being held in the UK, and a shiver running up and down the front-bench in Westminster desperately seeking a spine to run up - what is required is a sober and incisive critique of the media we are being fed. @brokenbottleboy provides. I've been looking forward to this for a while! by @gooseandcommon
