What to Expect: Crystal Kayak and SUP Glow Tour Edition 💎 🔦

This is our most popular tour, and it regularly sells out, so be sure to book in advance! 🔥

Arrive 30 min. before your tour time to check in. Remember: No shoes allowed on the Crystal Kayaks to protect the clear surface. We sell neoprene socks and gloves in our gift shop if you need them! 🧦

When booking, you have the option to add a photo album, so guides will be snapping a few pics of your group throughout the tour. Get ready to pose in front of the Miner Dusty statue at the entrance! 📸

At 1.5 hours, our deluxe tours are 30 min. longer than the Classic tour, so you’ll have a bit more time to explore. At your tour start time, a guide will assemble your group and pass out the gear: a helmet and headlamp, personal flotation device, and paddle. They’ll also provide basic paddling instruction if needed. 🦺

Unlike the Classic Tour, our deluxe tours have a hike in through the mine. On this short walk, you’ll wind your way through the Underground to get to the dock. Watch your step! When you reach the dock, our staff will help you into your single or tandem kayak or onto your stand up paddleboard. All kayaks and paddleboards are completely clear and lit up with colorful underwater LEDs. This what gives the water that cool glow! 🌈

Now, the real fun begins! After a picture of you and your group on the water, it’s time to paddle! As you make your way through the Underground, your guide will lead you, paddling at a manageable pace. Along the way, they’ll point out interesting features, share the history of the area, and keep you entertained! Keep an eye out for fish swimming by. The water is crystal clear, which makes them easy to spot beneath your kayak or board. 💦 by @gorgeunderground

What to Expect: Classic Kayak Tour Edition 🚣‍♀️

Arrive 30 min. before your tour time and make your way to the front desk to check in. This ensures that everyone is accounted for and waivers are signed, so the tour begins on time. ⏰

When it’s time for your tour, a guide will assemble your group and get everyone geared up with a helmet and headlamp, personal flotation device and paddle. They will also provide basic paddling instruction. 🦺

Next, you’ll head to the dock to begin loading into your kayak. Guests choose from single and tandem kayaks. Our staff will help you into your kayak and launch you from the dock. 🛶

It’s time to paddle! Your guide will go at a leisurely pace, leading the way, highlighting the most interesting parts of the mine, and sharing its history (and more than a few jokes.) 🪨

The water is calm and there’s no current, so it’s an easy paddle. You’ll have plenty of room to spread out. Guides will make sure no one falls behind. 💦

At the end of your tour, you’ll loop back around to the dock, and our staff will assist as you unload. You’ve successfully completed your Gorge Underground kayak tour! When's the best time to visit The Gorge Underground? ⏰

Because the temperature in the mine is always ~52 degrees, visitors can explore from morning to evening almost any time of year. It's also an ideal rainy day activity because you're shielded from the elements underground.

We operate on a limited schedule in winter, but we still run tours in every season. ☀️ 🍁 ❄️ ☔ by @gorgeunderground
