Happy National Boss Day! We couldn’t let today slip by without celebrating the one and only President and CEO, Michelle Pryce-Screen. Behind every bit of work our team does each day is a leader who shows up, lifts us up, and keeps us moving forward. We asked the GOSO crew to sum her up in just one word, and let’s just say the answers speak for themselves. Michelle, you mean the world to us!💙 by @gosonyc

Restorative Justice has made a lasting footprint in GOSO programming! This month we celebrate the completion of our 7th Junior Circle Keepers (JCK) cohort, a space where our young people come together to share, listen, and work through their feelings.

This cohort made real strides in building relationships, growing comfortable with one another, and practicing active listening. One habit they embraced was responding to a peer's share with a simple "Thank you for sharing" instead of jumping in with advice or solutions. Small practice, big impact. 💛

To mark the milestone, the group went to see School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play on Broadway, and they had an amazing time! Congratulations to our Junior Circle Keepers. We're so proud of you! by @gosonyc

At GOSO we’re proud to celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, histories, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino communities that make our community stronger.

This month is a reminder to honor the stories and traditions passed down through generations and celebrate the diversity within the Hispanic community. Our education participants have been doing just that, from learning about trailblazers like Justice Sonia Sotomayor to building their very own bodega right here at GOSO. From food to family, culture, and community, there is so much to celebrate!

Happy Hispanic Heritage month from GOSO!🎉💙

"It's one of those shows where the more you talk about it and reflect on what was being said, the more you appreciate it. It sparked some great conversations and gave our young people something meaningful to think about." — Pat, Program Manager

Those are the reflections from our team after our participants saw "America, Who Hurt You,?" live! 🎭

Thank you to all who gave to make this happen and give our participants access to art and the opportunity to see this play. Special thank you to Board Member Reginald Andre for making this possible!💙 by @gosonyc

The right outfit can change how you walk into a room. For many young people starting a new job, not having the right clothes is a barrier most of us never think about, and it can shake their confidence before day one even begins.

Thanks to our partners at @haggarco, GOSO participants can now show up feeling like their best selves. 💙 Thank you, Haggar, for helping our young people step into their futures with confidence!

How do you make New York better? 🗽We spoke with recent ABNY Foundation grantees at our Spirit of ABNY Awards to hear how funding raised from the evening helped them make an impact in their community thanks to the ABNY Foundation's grantmaking program.

From culinary training for refugees to career pathways for young New Yorkers, these organizations are building a better New York every single day. Thank you to @andromedacommunityinitiative, @rhookinitiative, @bsdcorp, @nypacentrepreneurs, @emmastorchfood, and @gosonyc for sharing your work with us and for everything you do for our city.

This past Sunday, GOSO's SAVE team proudly participated in the 56th Annual African American Parade!

Our team had the honor of representing GOSO while walking alongside Deputy Mayor Renita Francois from the Office of Community Safety. It was a meaningful opportunity to stand together, celebrate our community, and show our commitment to building safer, stronger neighborhoods. We were also grateful to capture a special moment with Senator Cordell Cleare.

We are proud to be part of such an important community tradition and grateful for everyone who came together to make the day special. ❤️🖤 by @gosonyc

Today is the International Day of Peace. And what better way to honor it than by sharing this moment — our SAVE team with Council Member Yusef Salaam at the SAVE Day for Dads event. We asked Pat (pictured far right), our SAVE program manager, what peace means to him and the SAVE team. Here's what he said:

"No shootings in the catchment area — that's right. The SAVE team is at over 800 days with no shootings in the Wagner Houses, and over 400 days with no shootings in Johnson. That shows the work this team is doing is making a real impact in the East Harlem community. This is what peace means — being able to see the community feel comfortable in their own community." by @gosonyc

When your boss follows you on TikTok... Suddenly it's all hard work, clean spaces, and great teamwork! We see you, Relly— and honestly, we love what we see.

Making this one had us laughing the whole time. Hard at work, but never too serious to have a little fun.

In honor of Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, it's only right that we highlight the kickoff of the school year at GOSO with our annual Back to School event. With the support of @Macquariegroup and @Poncebank, we were able to provide backpacks to our young participants — from GED prep to college. We played icebreakers, made connections, and even had a little dance party.

The best part, you ask? Staff coming in dressed up as the participants!

Thank you to the volunteers from Macquarie and @cm_encarnacion office for taking the time to come in and do the heavy lifting and organize the supplies. Without you, it would not be possible. 💙🎒📚 by @gosonyc

GOSO is proud to be a 2026 Taco Bell Foundation Community Grants recipient. We're thankful for their continuted support of our Career Services program, GOSOWorks, which equips young New Yorkers with the tools, skills, knowledge, and self-awareness to build viable careers. Our vision — a world where neither a person's race nor contact with the legal system determines their future — isn't possible without partners like Taco Bell Foundation. (link in bio)
