A slightly unusual way to remember our time in Da Nang.

Our random ideas became little films, each with its own character arc. Somehow, they all ended up in the same trailer.
Made possible by friends who were down for anything and fully committed to the bit.

Looking back, these scenes bring back the laughter and everything that happened between takes (for @otherthanfood it was 11 takes)!

KANDO 2026 / DIARY ENTRY:

Kando felt a little different for me this year.

I came into these three days wanting to take things slower. Less about chasing every shot, and more about actually being present in each experience.

To shoot with intention, to observe a little more, and to remind myself why I enjoy doing this in the first place.

And of course, to never forget to PLAY.

THE JOY OF MAKING -

There was A LOT happening within these three days.

Every experience threw us into something completely different.

I think slowing down strangely made me want to experiment even more.

Not everything needed to be the perfect shot. Sometimes it was just about trying something, getting it wrong, trying again, and seeing where it takes me.

There was definitely blood, sweat and tears somewhere in there too 🙇🏻‍♂️

FINDING MY VOICE -

Beyond shooting, I actually spent a lot of time watching how everyone else creates.

Photographers, filmmakers, YouTubers, hybrids. Some have been doing this for years, some are still finding their voice, and some are probably figuring things out at the same stage as me.

We could all be standing in front of the exact same scene, yet somehow walk away with completely different images and stories.

I loved that.

A lot of the conversations I had also left me questioning my own work afterwards.

What do I actually want to make? What do I want people to feel from my work? What is uniquely mine? How can I merge my art and content? @pat_kay

WHAT I’M TAKING HOME -

Maybe that’s what I’m taking home from Kando this time.

Not necessarily more answers, but a lot more questions about myself and the kind of creator I want to become.

I’m grateful for every conversation, every person who shared how they see the world, and all the little moments in between the shooting.

It felt incredibly short, but somehow there was a lot to take home from it.

In between tables, orders and another long shift.

Waiting for the next notification.

Every market has someone who looks like they run the place.
I don’t actually know if he did.
