What every baseball parent saw last night:
Even the pros make mistakes.

One throw. One moment. Everything changes.

But what stood out? His teammates ran to him—no yelling, no blame, just love.

That’s what our kids need too.

Not coaching. Not criticism. Just support.
Because one strikeout or bad throw doesn’t define them.

Tomorrow is a new game.

And the best thing they can see after a tough moment… is you still cheering. ❤️⚾

The game of baseball is truly a form of poetry.

Flashing back 20 years ago, the 2005 Clinton Varsity Baseball strung together a remarkably memorable season after a transition of the head coach that had been there for years prior between JV and Varsity.

Seniors who have grown accustomed to a system that bridged coaching philosophies from the JV and Varsity group produced year after year high-ranking playoff teams and winning seasons.

This 2005 group was primed to go far, having elite defense all around, power at the plate, speed, and pitching facing one of the most talented draft classes in NYC which produced tons of pro players including our very own shortstop Miguel Vasquez (Royals).

This same season equipped with veterans who knew how to compete and win, young talent who have been tried and tested early on, we lost at GW in the 2nd round; this is after previously beating them in their home earlier that season.

That GW team had a couple of draftees between 2004-2005 themselves, and were just off the championship game the year before.

20 years have gone by and if you speak to any of those players today they will always tell you how the bonds made during their high school baseball years is like none other.

Many players this 2005 year went to the pros, played played college ball and became successful coaches and trainers.

They also became fathers, business owners, law enforcement, fireman, executives, and teachers; the list goes on.

No matter what time has passed, the brotherhood of Clinton Baseball lasts forever.

Cheers to the class of 2025, once you cross that stage in June, you are forever bonded with the alumni before you in a brotherhood of tradition and legacy. 👨‍🎓🤝

Governors for life ‼️

What can we say, it was a heck of a ride‼️

These 5 young Governors have contributed this year in a way that cannot be ignored. 🫡

They have helped shift the culture again at Clinton Baseball. Together raising pride, dedication and competitiveness.

We wish you all the luck in the continuation of your baseball and academic journey 👨‍🎓 🖤‼️

Clinton baseball- our future is bright because the foundation they helped build this year and being able to change a 2 win team into a team who put up some great battles with tough opponents. 😤

This year, the Clinton Governors put up 10 wins despite a 5-9 regular season record making us the 2nd place team in our Bronx Triple-A North Division. 👏

Today, in the first round of the playoffs against the GW Trojans, we fell short 11-9 in a battle that took two days to complete.

Both teams battled to the very end that could’ve gone either way and that’s the beauty of the game. 💔

We could learn from our losses as much as there is to learn from our victories. 🙏🏾

We are proud of our young men wearing the black & red, and the future is bright with returning Juniors who are determined to lead us to new heights.

For parents, coaches, future players and friends, we thank you for your support and encouragement this school season and we look forward to seeing you again in 2026.

Go GOVS ‼️‼️‼️

𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏 | 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 | 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝

The #𝟐𝟐-𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐬 head into the first round of the PSAL playoffs — and we’re back in hostile territory to face the #𝟏𝟏-𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐬.

Last time? We shocked the city with a 4-2 win, holding them to just 2 hits in a statement game.

This time? It’s on their field. They want revenge. We want respect — and the W.

𝑾𝑯𝒀 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝑼𝑺⁉️

We’re the underdogs again… and we love it that way.

From 2-6 to the postseason.

What a run 💪🏽🔥🙏🏾

The Clinton Governors closed out the season facing the best, including division rivals and city powerhouses — and came out finishing 5-9 and locking in 2nd place in the division.

A year ago, we missed the playoffs with just 2 wins.

This year? We’re built different.
Led by our 5 seniors and fueled by a sophomore core that grew up fast — we’re back.

Round 1 of the playoffs is this Wednesday, May 21st — and we’re facing the same George Washington Trojans we stunned last week. They are no easy challenge, and the Trojans will bring their best; our boys need to battle. 💪🏽

Everyone counted us out… but we’ve been asking the same question since the start of this run:

Why not us⁉️

We’ll be on the road - Let’s pack the stands. Let’s show our pride.

Let’s make some noise for YOUR Clinton Governors.

We didn’t take the W today, a 3-game win streak snapped.

We still are in the hunt for the playoffs and we’ll get another shot at the leaders in the division on Thursday.

But these guys, the guys who have battled in the program all these years make the experience of coaching worth it ‼️

A great turnout for our seniors today despite the weather.

We want to thank staff, classmates, family and friends who supported today 🙏🏾❤️🖤

You want the players who become lifelong brothers in the fraternity that will always be Clinton Governor Baseball 🎩⚾️⚫️🔴🫡

Way to represent the program, and let’s get after the rest of the season boys 💪🏽

Why NOT US⁉️

Tomorrow, we celebrate our graduating Governors — the athletes who’ve poured their hearts into this program and left their mark on and off the field.

But it’s also 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.

We’re hosting the 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐲 𝐊𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 — our division rivals and current division leaders by just 1 win.

It’s the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬, and with only 3 games left, this one’s a must-win for our playoff hopes and seeding.

Back when we were 2-6, we set a goal: finish strong — 4-2 to close the season. Now, we’re riding a 3-game win streak, and the mission is alive and we will fight to surpass that goal 💪🏽

Come out tomorrow at 4:15 PM to show love to our seniors and bring that energy as we fight to keep the run going. Why NOT US⁉️

𝑯𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑶𝑹𝒀. 𝑴𝑨𝑫𝑬.

The Clinton Governors take down the George Washington Trojans — a team we hadn’t beaten since before 2021 — and we did it on OUR turf.

𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍: 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒏 𝑾 | 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅: 𝟓-𝟔 | 𝟑 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕.

Sophomore southpaw, 𝑩𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒐 continues to dominate — 6 innings, 2 hits, 2 runs (1 earned). That’s just 𝟕 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟖 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝.

𝑫𝑶𝑮 𝑶𝑵 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑴𝑶𝑼𝑵𝑫‼️

Early baserunning pressure + clutch bats = early lead and our DEFENSE protected it through and through chasing flys, throwing out baserunners and turning TWO in the later innings.

Senior 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐨 sparked us with a key RBI single early, and senior 𝐕í𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨 delivered a HUGE insurance run in the 6th with a sac fly to left bringing in 𝐍𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐳𝐦𝐚𝐧 who was hit-by-pitch to leadoff the inning.

And once again, 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 — pitching the 7th, working through traffic, and finishing it with a strikeout and a runner stranded earning his 2nd straight save and preserving Bernardo’s 2nd W of the season.

That’s 𝟑 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐖s against contenders and we’re heating up at just the right time.

Playoffs in sight. Momentum is real. But we’re not done yet.

𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐲 𝐮𝐩 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭. 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦. 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐲 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞. 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐧.

𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲.

𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.

The Clinton Governors host 𝐔𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 today at 4:15 PM.

The Trojans are locked into the playoffs. We’re fighting to stay there.

A win keeps us in 2nd. A loss could cost us everything — in a division where three teams are neck and neck.

We’ve already silenced some doubters. 🤫

Now it’s time to make another statement.

𝟒 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭. 𝐍𝐨 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭.

Students, staff, families — we need your voice in the stands today.

Let’s protect home turf and chase this playoff hunt together‼️
