Sapphic Spiral: A 16mm short film by Grace Aine

Yayyy it’s here after hours and hours of work!! Really really proud of this one, and really excited about it. Share it if you’re gay. Share it if you also went through a tunnel and became a lesbian. Share it if you want to be in my Oscar speech. Lots of love!

What You’ve Missed:

A 3 channel installation based on my friend and I’s experience with growing up! This is a very special project to me, that wouldn’t have been possible without Kyle, so big thanks to him! Here is the project documentation, the actual video will be up tomorrow, so if the coloring looks weird here ignore that, I promise it looked good in person! Also thanks Sophia for being DP! by @graceainefilms

Untitled 16mm: Grace Aine

Yayyy this is a film from first semester, my first real go at using the Bolex!! The goal was to create a dream sequence! Some of the shots are clearly over exposed.. but it’s ok because light metering is kinda hard! I also incorporated hand made elements hence the scratching and ink! Special shout out to my good friend @marly_kananowicz who acted and was awesome (as you can see).

Ps: if you don’t understand, Marly is being chased in her dream and when the bad guy finally catches up to her, she realizes they are the same😶‍🌫️ by @graceainefilms

Whats a Snail to do? - A film by Grace Aine

First time doing stop motion animation!!! Very pleased with how it came out, I edited over 2000 individual frames in premiere (yikes), and put about 15 hours of editing into this project total!! (Double yikes)! I also made the score, which I’m super proud of!!I would definitely do something like this again and take any of the hiccups I had to really perfect the craft, overall I’d say I’m proud of what I was able to do!! Extra special thank you to @avissamaha and @abigaillyn.n for creating the beautiful backgrounds and snail, and to @turkey__antics for allowing me to use her miniature sets!! Classic little snail in a big world! by @graceainefilms

Birthday Reminiscence:

It’s been so long since I’ve posted something I’ve made on here, and while I wait for my 16mm loops to be scanned and finished I figured I’d post something very small I’ve been messing with. I’ve been learning how to create my own sound design, and made one for a class this year that I really loved and wanted to do something with, so I figured I’d edit a simple visual to go with the sounds I edited. My birthday was yesterday and as I get older and reflect on my childhood videos, it was important for me to include the voices of those still apart of my life, and those who aren’t, because it is a major part of who I am today. It’s something small but meaningful to me, and I want to start posting things even if they aren’t perfect. Ok that’s the end of my rant, listen with headphones for a better experience!!!! Bye for now! by @graceainefilms

Incredibly proud to announce my first documentary film “You Are My Sunshine” has been selected to be screened at the All American High School Film Festival at the AMC in TIMES SQUARE! Biggest thank you to my beautiful, courageous, and inspiring older sisters, who allowed me to tell a personal story, despite it not being mine to tell! Love you both! (I won’t be posting it on insta BUT wanted to share the news!!) by @graceainefilms
