Cooks and bakes at home frequently? Try almost never. Works with textiles extensively? Hardly. Practiced photography? CHECK OUT MY IG, AMAZON! Does it look like I know how to use a camera?? But yes, I am often expanding my hobbies and craft supplies. #adhd #crafting by @gracedayplays
Ten years of marriage to this absolute smoke show who: 1) does most of the cooking and cleaning, 2) has gaydar so bad, he genuinely didn’t believe me when I told him Nathan Lane is gay, 3) has spent the last week hand-carving a wooden sword for Milo’s Halloween costume, and 4) is still my biggest crush, 17 (!) years after the crush first began. by @gracedayplays
In March, Drew left for a deployment for an undetermined amount of time. After the baby we were fostering went to live with her aunt two weeks later, my dad flew out to drive with me and the boys to Virginia. We stayed with my parents until Drew came home last week. In our time there, my youngest brother left home for New York (and became internet famous lol), my older brother and his wife and daughter moved in as well, and my baby sister was home from college for the summer. In an extremely difficult season of life, I am beyond fortunate to have the family I have. And as a testament of my mother’s love, she cried when we left because even after 6 months of my kids terrorizing her home (and car across 3 road trips), she wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye. ❤️ by @gracedayplays
We’re all deliriously happy to be together again. #reunited by @gracedayplays
Wally: I need a hammer! Me: a hammer? No you don’t. Wally: oh! I just joking! My baby Jack Black, always dancing, laughing, doing an impression, drawing, or trying to get Milo’s attention by doing all of the above. I cannot believe I get to be his mom. ❤️ happy (third???) birthday, Wally! P.s. when I told him last week that his birthday is coming up he said “I’m gonna be old.” by @gracedayplays
Yes, School of Rock did a grave disservice by making Sarah Silverman play such an unfunny woman but it’s still a great example of project based learning and Jack Black at his best. My baseline of emotion with Drew being gone is that tears are almost always just under the surface. by @gracedayplays
The past week has been nothing short of magical. My in-laws flew me out to see Drew in England, one of the greatest gifts of my life. Drew and I explored small towns and big towns, got to see my best friend in a play and stay up late gabbing (and true to form, we were too busy gabbing to get a picture), went to a concert, swam in the Roman waters spa in Bath, looked for fairies and ghosts in the New Forest (I think Drew was looking for deer?), but my favorite thing we did was hold hands, anywhere and everywhere we went. by @gracedayplays
This really old trend but #adhd style. by @gracedayplays
Happy birthday to my sweet, funny boy. He’s recently discovered a love for matcha, Steven Spielberg (a fellow dyslexic gentleman), and what he calls “classic music” (Funkytown, Baby Got Back, etc). He talks about video game design constantly and he does a fantastic job being a big brother to Wally and all the bonus babies we’ve had in the past 6 months. Happy, happy birthday, Milo. I love you to the moon and back. by @gracedayplays
Today: My big boy gave me a flower with the pollen take out of the middle so the bees wouldn’t get me. And my small boy kissed my knees when I fell on gravel and said, “I sorry you hurt yourself.” I’ve made jokes that I’m full on boys but we have room for daughters. The truth is, I can’t imagine having another son as perfect as these two. by @gracedayplays
So anyway, that’s how homeschooling is going. #dogwedding by @gracedayplays
Every year, I decide at the last minute to hand-make Valentine’s for the kids to take to their classmates. Toddlers are unpredictable, but I try to roll with it. It’s all part of the dance. by @gracedayplays
