dr. grove 🎓 equally as proud of ‘dr’ as i am of the name that follows, and i’m humbled and honoured to be joining a group of incredible dr grove’s. i only wish pa could have been here to share this day 🤍 simply couldn’t have done it without my people, it’s an achievement i share with all of them. by @graceegrove

you can do everything you want to do and be everything you want to be

my morning routine has always been so important to me.
as someone working in a highly stressful and unpredictable job, it was the only part of my day i could control.
it was my way of making sure every day had a little bit of good in it, and it took the pressure off getting things done in the evening when i had no idea what time i would finish work or what kind of things i would be taking home with me.
running was a massive part of that routine and losing it made me lose control of that whole routine, i’ve been focusing on falling in love with my mornings again even though running isn’t a part of it & i think i’ve got the hang of it again.
the ingredients for a perfect morning routine (imo):
- something for the body (gym, pilates, swim, run, cycle, walk)
- something for the mind (gratitude, meditation, journaling, mind wandering)
- something for the soul (coffee, ocean dip, time with pals)
- something just for you (skincare, eye mask, stretch)
& no matter what is waiting for you, your day is already won by @graceegrove

life has been looking like this in my new chiller era:

slow mornings & a new morning routine

having time to get dressed up

eating lunch at home & having more than 5 minutes to do it

wearing clothes that aren’t scrubs/activewear

hanging out with my mates on the weekend

sunrise swims

being outside in the middle of the day

mind wandering

treating myself to new shoes

dealing with thoughts i’ve been outrunning for months

spending so much extra time with my pals

hanging @ hq cause every waking minute of my day is no longer full

golden trio of my new routine: coffee, kindle & gratitude journal

sleeping in until the sun comes up

trying lots of new forms of movement that don’t include walking/running

not rushing in the morning

finally getting a healthy amount of vitamin d

finding new morning habits that bring me as much joy as running does

going for margs a lot xoxo by @graceegrove
