In this clip from the upcoming screening of @vipervaudeville we see our composer @graceface_killah singing with passion and power calling for an end to the War on Drugs.

On the eve of 420, before we celebrate we must remember the harm and violence of cannabis repression. We acknowledge that there are still 1000’s of people locked up in federal prison, and 1000’s more arrested each year in our country for cannabis offenses, the majority of whom are from communities of color. We call for an end to the Drug War. We call for education, science, and humane policies!

Come see the screening of CANNABIS! A Viper Vaudeville on May 4th at @cinemavillage, and hear a call to action from @virtuenvictory. Sponsored by @theothermagazines. taken in Cinema Village by @graceface_killah

Around 9 years ago I was in Amsterdam on a layover and I went to one of my fav spots the 420 Cafe. I had gone there many times to hang with John Sinclair, the great and late poet, activist, jazz scholar, radio host and countercultural advocate. Spending time with him helped me to feel closer to my pops and to the culture I was raised in as I was living in the Uk at the time. So there I am Surrounded by Frank Zappa posters and clouds of smoke and I see Martin Lee, an old friend of my father’s. He had interviewed my pops for his first book Acid Dreams, about the history of acid. I was amazed to bump into him and he shared with me about his most recent book Smoke Signals. That moment was the catalyst for the creation of what is now @plantofthepeople ! I am very excited to welcome Martin to join us at @joespub as we develop new material and continue to grow the show towards a major run in NYC! by @graceface_killah

This week, I opened my home in Sugar Hill for an incredible evening in support of the @bwayadvocacycoalition — and together, we raised nearly $15,000.

I’m grateful to everyone who came, gave generously, and helped make the evening special.

A special thank you to @gbengaakinnagbe Akinnagbe for lending his voice to the cause, and to the incredibly talented @graceface_killah for sharing her gift with us.

Broadway Advocacy Coalition is doing important work at the intersection of art, culture, advocacy, and social change. I was proud to open my home and bring people together to support that work.

Nearly $15,000 raised in one evening, because people believe in the power of community.

Stay tuned for the next fundraiser, for another great organization.

In this section of @vipervaudeville , @iamtwicelight embodies the story of a veteran who had served in Afghanistan. Like many veterans, upon his return he struggles with PTSD and a lack of support services. Also like many veterans, he finds relief in cannabis. We want to honor the many advocates across the country who have championed access to cannabis for veterans. Twice uses his skill and soul as a Krump dancer to embody this story. Come to the screening on May 4th at @cinemavillage to experience the full production! Shout out to our media partner and sponsor @theothermagazines red carpet at 6:30 and screening at 7pm! #cannabis #cannabiscommunity #cannabis4vets shout out to @herearts our original producers and @lamamaetc where this was filmed! taken in Cinema Village by @graceface_killah
